    • Live BP up next
Williams (back) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Tuesday at American Family Field, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Williams began throwing off a mound in late June, and it didn't take long for him to be cleared to face live hitters. The right-hander will require a minor-league rehab assignment before being reinstated from the 60-day injured list, though it's unclear how many outings he might need. The Brewers have been targeting the July 30 trade deadline as a general target date for Williams' return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:30 pm

    • Tallies four hits in win
Langford went 4-for-5 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 13-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: This was Langford's second four-hit game over his last seven contests after he hit for the cycle last Sunday. The outfielder is 12-for-26 (.462) in that span, and he's also added a 4:6 BB:K. It's taken him some time, but it appears he's found some consistency at the plate midway through his rookie year. Langford is slashing .270/.337/.398 with four home runs, 37 RBI, 28 runs scored, 11 doubles, four triples and seven stolen bases over 66 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:22 pm

    • Shohei Ohtani swipes two bags in loss to Brewers
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-5 and stole a pair of bases as the Dodgers fell to the Brewers on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Advice: Ohtani smacked a one-out single off of Dallas Keuchel in the third inning then proceeded to swipe second and third base before getting stranded there. He has now eclipsed the 20-steal plateau for the third time in his career and has already matched his total from the 2023 season. The 30-year-old superstar is slashing .314/.399/.637 with 28 homers, 65 RBI and 20 stolen bases through his first 88 games with the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:08 pm

    • Paul Skenes headlines pitchers for N.L. All-Stars
Pirates’ rookie right-hander Paul Skenes was named to his first National League All-Star team on Sunday, despite having logged just 59 1/3 innings at the big-league level.

Advice: It’s the first of what should be many All-Star game nods for the studly 22-year-old hurler who has gone 5-0 with a 2.12 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and a 78/12 K/BB ratio through his first 10 MLB starts. He’ll be joined on the N.L. All-Star squad by fellow pitchers Ranger Suarez, Tyler Glasnow, Shota Imanaga, Reynaldo Lopez, Logan Webb, Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, Ryan Helsley, Tanner Scott, Robert Suarez, Matt Strahm and Jeff Hoffman. • Cody Bellinger goes 0-for-4 in second straight
Cody Bellinger went 0-for-4 for a second straight game Sunday against the Angels.

Advice: Bellinger’s batting average has been holding steady, but he has just one homer and six doubles since the beginning of June. In his first 43 games this season, he hit .267/.332/.471 with 26 RBI. In his last 34 games, he’s come in at .265/.319/.333 with 11 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:12 pm

    • Flaherty (back) scheduled to start Thursday
Jack Flaherty (back) is scheduled to start Thursday’s game against the Guardians.

Advice: Flaherty missed Wednesday’s scheduled start against the Twins because of his back issue. The right-handed hurler will need to avoid setbacks in order to make that next start and Detroit will take the necessary precautions, but it’s obviously a good sign that the 28-year-old is penciled in for the outing. • Rejoining rotation Thursday
The Tigers list Flaherty (back) as their scheduled starter for Thursday's game against the Guardians in Detroit, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: Flaherty avoided a stint on the injured list when a back issue reared its head coming out of his June 27 start versus the Angels, but he'll end up having missed nearly two weeks while waiting for two pain-killing injections to provide some relief. The Tigers seem confident that the extended rest will help resolve Flaherty's back problems, which also resulted in him missing a turn through the rotation in the first half of June. Back issues aside, Flaherty has been even better than the Tigers could have hoped when they signed him to a one-year, $14 million deal this winter. Over his 15 starts, Flaherty has gone 5-5 with a 3.24 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 115:14 K:BB in 89 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:47 pm
    • Williams (back) could begin rehab assignment soon
Devin Williams (back) will throw a live bullpen Tuesday.

Advice: Williams has had a few bullpen sessions as of late, and he’s filling will enough to face live hitters Tuesday. If that goes well, the next step for Williams could be a rehab assignment. Williams has missed all of the season with a stress fracture in his back, and he should return to a stopping role before the end of July if there are no setbacks. • Remaining on bench Sunday
Marte (back) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Marte was removed from Friday's contest due to lower-back tightness and will sit Sunday for the second consecutive game. The 30-year-old was reportedly available off the bench Saturday but didn't see the field, so he'll presumably be available again Sunday. Kevin Newman is manning the keystone in place of Marte.
