    • Goes seven innings in win
Webb (7-6) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over seven innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: Webb gave up both runs on three hits and a sacrifice fly in the first inning, then settled in to produce a strong start by not allowing a runner past second base for the next six frames. He's gone seven innings in six of his last eight starts as he continues to be an innings-eater at the top of the Giants' rotation. For the season, Webb has a 3.09 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 103:27 K:BB over 119.1 innings through 19 starts. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home versus the Blue Jays. • Webb allows two runs in win over Braves Thursday
Logan Webb allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Giants’ 4-2 victory over the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: Webb gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. The win was his seventh of the year. Webb gave up an RBI double to Ozzie Albies in the first inning and Albies later scored on an Austin Riley sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 Braves. Then he held Atlanta scoreless for the next six innings. Webb has gone seven innings and allowed two runs in four of his last six starts. He’s been one of the most consistent pitchers in fantasy this year and has a 3.09 ERA. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Blue Jays at home next week.

    • Jared Jones (lat) lands on 15-day IL
Pirates placed RHP Jared Jones on the 15-day injured list with a strained lat.

Advice: Jones was removed from Wednesday night’s game after 78 pitches with a strained lat. The team didn’t express much concern over the injury, but Jones found himself on the injured list anyway on Thursday morning. With the Pirates already planning to limit Jones’ innings in his rookie season, this would seem to be an easy way to pause Jones’ innings count for a little bit and bring him back after the All-Star break without having the massage his innings as much. • Heads to IL with strained lat
The Pirates placed Jones on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a strained right lat, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: The injury caused Jones to be removed early from Wednesday's start against the Cardinals. It does not appear to be a significant strain, but the Pirates undoubtedly will exercise caution with the talented young right-hander. Luis Ortiz would seem to be a good bet to slide into the Pirates' rotation in Jones' place. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 am

    • Jared Jones exits Wednesday start with lat strain
Jared Jones was removed from Wednesday’s start against the Cardinals after five innings due to a right lat strain.

Advice: The assumption when Jones was pulled after just 78 pitches was that it was simply another way for the Pirates to manage the 22-year-old hurler’s workload, but it sounds like there was an injury issue at play as well. Jones told reporters after the game that he wasn’t too concerned about it, but the Pirates aren’t going to take any unnecessary risks with him. His availability for next week’s start against the Mets is completely in the air at this point. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:04 pm

    • Exits with strained lat
Jones was removed from his start Wednesday versus St. Louis due to a right lat strain, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Jones managed to get through five innings of one-run ball while striking out five batters and walking two before coming out of Wednesday's contest. The 22-year-old said after the game that he could have kept pitching if necessary, but the team opted for a cautious approach in order to prevent his injury from worsening. Pittsburgh will keep an eye on Jones' lat as his next start approaches, but the initial level of concern seems relatively low. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:01 pm

    • Jared Jones completes five frames vs. Cardinals
Jared Jones struck out five and yielded one run over five innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

Advice: Pittsburgh continues to carefully manage their prized rookie right-hander’s workload this season as Jones was limited to just 78 pitches (52 strikes) over five innings in this one after spinning seven innings on 94 pitches his last time out against the Rays. The 22-year-old rookie sensation generated 10 swinging strikes, with eight of those coming on his slider alone, and finished with a solid 33 percent CSW. He’ll bring a strong 3.56 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 98/27 K/BB ratio across 91 innings (16 starts) into a home outing on Monday against the Mets in his penultimate start prior to the Midsummer Classic. • Struggles in non-save scenario
Miller allowed two earned runs on two hits and a walk over one inning in a 7-5 win over the Angels on Tuesday. He struck out two.

Advice: Miller had last seen action Friday, so manager Mark Kotsay opted to give his closer some work in what started as a low-leverage scenario. The fireballing right-hander inherited a 7-3 advantage going into the ninth inning and proceeded to retire two of the first three hitters he faced, but he subsequently allowed an RBI double and single to Nolan Schanuel and Luis Rengifo, respectively, to tighten matters up. Miller bore down and retired Taylor Ward on four pitches to put an end to the threat and the game, but not before allowing multiple earned runs for the first time since May 23. Despite the stumble, Miller has contributed a win and 14 saves to fantasy managers this season, accomplishing those marks with the help of a stellar 15.8 K/9. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:52 am

    • Jack Flaherty not starting Wednesday vs. Twins
Jack Flaherty will not make his next scheduled start on Wednesday against the Twins due to an ongoing back issue.

Advice: Flaherty remained back in Los Angeles following last Thursday’s lackluster start against the Angels where he allowed five runs over 5 2/3 innings to receive a pain-reducing injection in his back. The 28-year-old righty, who has been excellent this season in his Detroit debut, is expected to take the ball next week against the Twins. It doesn’t sound like he’ll require a trip to the injured list, but back issues can be complicated matters and could certainly impact his on-field performance moving forward.
