    • Hit hard in loss
Irvin (6-4) took the loss against the Guardians on Tuesday, allowing eight runs (four earned) on 10 hits with no walks and one strikeout over four innings.

Advice: Irvin allowed three runs in the first two innings and then five runs in a disastrous fifth frame that included a three-run home run by Jose Ramirez. An error in the fifth resulted in four of the runs being unearned, but the lefty allowed 10 hard-hit balls and only generated five swinging strikes in his second consecutive rough outing. Irvin has yielded 13 runs (nine earned) in those two outings and now owns a 3.74 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 74:15 K:BB in 77 innings this season. The 30-year-old will try to get back on track in a home matchup against the Rangers this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:00 pm

    • Cole Irvin hit hard Tuesday in loss to Guardians
Cole Irvin was lit up for eight runs (four earned) over four innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Irvin was torched for 10 hits, including a three-run homer by José Ramírez in the fourth inning prior to his early exit. He notched only one strikeout and didn’t issue a walk. He’ll face the Rangers on Sunday his next time out. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:26 pm

    • Collects save
Jax struck out two and allowed one hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Athletics.

Advice: The Twins haven't had much need for their bullpen this weekend, as Bailey Ober tossed a complete game Saturday and Pablo Lopez went eight innings Sunday. Jax hadn't pitched since Thursday, so he was a little fresher than Jhoan Duran, who last pitched Friday, which likely explains manager Rocco Baldelli's decision. Jax has done well in a high-leverage role this year, posting a 2.10 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 46:8 K:BB over 34.1 innings. He's added seven saves and 12 holds, though he's likely to remain second in the hierarchy for closing duties. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:03 pm

    • Griffin Jax closes out Athletics on Sunday
Griffin Jax registered his seventh save of the season on Sunday afternoon, working a scoreless ninth inning to protect a three-run lead against the Athletics.

Advice: It’s the second straight week that Jax has secured a save on Sunday. Jhoan Duran threw 19 pitches in a blown save against the A’s on Friday night, but neither of the two hurlers worked during Saturday’s game, so it was a bit surprising to see Jax and not Duran to close this one out. Other than posting elite ratios and nabbing the occasional save though, it’s hard to count on Jax for much more from a fantasy perspective while Duran is still the primary option in the ninth inning. • Strong again in win
Blanco (8-2) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings to earn the win over the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Blanco wasn't as dominant as he was with seven no-hit innings last weekend versus the Tigers, but it was still an impressive showing. He's allowed just two runs over 20 innings across his last three starts after giving up four runs in each of his two outings before this stretch of dominance. The right-hander continues to thrive in his first full year as a starter, pitching to a 2.34 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 79:35 K:BB through 84.2 innings over 14 starts. Blanco is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Mets. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:58 pm

    • Ronel Blanco holds O’s to one run over seven
Ronel Blanco allowed one run in seven innings to get a win Saturday over the Orioles.

Advice: Blanco gave up a homer to Jordan Westburg in the second inning, but it was smooth sailing for the right-hander from that point on. He did put three runners on via walk, but he was able to strike out four and limited the loaded Baltimore lineup at an impressive level. Blanco has been one of the biggest bright spots for the Astros in 2024, and he’ll take a 2.34 ERA into a scheduled start against the Mets next weekend. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:29 pm

    • Struggles in no-decision
Irvin did not factor into the decision in a win over the Yankees on Thursday, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out two.

Advice: Irvin had a hard time with the Yankees' lineup for much of the afternoon, allowing runs in three of the five innings in which he appeared before being relieved by Bryan Baker. Irvin surrendered two home runs in the contest, something he hadn't done in any of his previous 13 outings, while he also matched his season high with five runs allowed. Irvin had gone at least five innings in four consecutive starts prior to Thursday's game and will look to bounce back next week when the Orioles take on the Guardians in Baltimore. • Irvin allows five in no-decision Thursday
Cole Irvin allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Orioles’ 17-5 victory over the Yankees on Thursday.

Advice: Irvin gave up five hits, walked two and struck out two. He didn’t complete five innings and thus didn’t qualify for the win in the Orioles’ blowout victory, a brutal beat for fantasy managers. Irvin is having a solid year with a 3.45 ERA and six wins. The 30-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home next week. Rotoworld Thursday, 4:32 pm

    • Bridges gap to closer for hold
Hudson earned a hold against Kansas City on Sunday, striking out two batters in a perfect eighth inning.

Advice: Tyler Glasnow gave Los Angeles seven shutout frames, and manager Dave Roberts then turned to Hudson to protect a three-run lead. The veteran reliever did so without any trouble, retiring all three batters he faced on 10 pitches. Hudson has been excellent for the Dodgers this season, posting a 1.93 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 31:3 K:BB over 28 innings while recording 10 holds, three saves and three wins. He's gone 13 straight outings without giving up a run, posting a 15:2 K:BB during that stretch. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:01 pm
