    • Starts second half strong
Andujar went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a run in a win over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: The Athletics picked up right where they left off before the All-Star break in terms of their blistering bats, and Andujar provided one of the team's four multi-hit efforts in the lopsided victory. The veteran contributed to the 13-run barrage with his sixth-inning double that plated Lawrence Butler, giving him eight RBI over his last 11 games alone. Rotowire.com Today, 8:41 am
    • Ryan Helsley pitching through lingering hip issue
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol told reporters Ryan Helsley declined to pitch in the All-Star Game earlier this week due to hip tightness.

Advice: It doesn’t sound like a serious concern, but it’s something worth noting as Helsley heads into the second half. It’s also unclear how long he’s been pitching through the issue. The 30-year-old right-hander is reportedly available to pitch in Saturday’s doubleheader against the Braves and it doesn’t seem like the lingering issue with impact his availability moving forward. However, we’re obligated to flag the minor issue in case it develops into something much more significant. Rotoworld Today, 8:30 am
    • Resting versus LHP
Rortvedt isn't in the Rays' lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: With left-hander Nestor Cortes slated to start on the bump for New York, the lefty-hitting Rortvedt will retreat to the bench while Alex Jackson starts behind the plate. Rotowire.com Today, 7:39 am
    • Quality start in loss
Castillo (8-10) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over seven innings Friday, taking the loss versus the Astros.

Advice: All of the scoring came in the third inning, when Castillo allowed five straight batters (three hits, one walk, one hit-by-pitch) to reach base. While he was efficient, needing just 90 pitches (58 strikes) to get through seven frames, the Mariners' offense once again gave him little support. Castillo has logged three straight quality starts in July and now sits at a 3.55 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 119:35 K:BB through 124.1 innings over 21 starts this season. He's projected for a favorable home start versus the Angels in his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:32 pm
    • Luis Castillo holds Astros to three, still gets loss
Luis Castillo struck out three over seven innings of three-run baseball in a loss to the Astros on Friday.

Advice: All three runs allowed by Castillo came in the the third inning. That’s three more runs than Seattle scored, so it’s the 10th loss of the season for the 31-year-old. He didn’t have his best swing-and-miss stuff with only six whiffs against the Astros, but he pitched well enough to win. His team just didn’t hit nearly enough for that to matter. Castillo takes a 3.55 ERA into a start next week against the Angels. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:30 pm
    • Ryan Helsley (travel) may not be available Friday
Ryan Helsley is among several Cardinals’ players and coaches who has had travel issues impact his availability for Friday night’s second half opener against the Braves in Atlanta.

Advice: With so many flights grounded across the country, it’s a bit surprising that we haven’t heard more of this on Friday. Helsley and Matt Carpenter are the two Cardinals’ players who may not make it in time for Friday’s game while coaches Daniel Descalso and Willie McGee are dealing with the same fate. Just something to consider when setting lineups for the weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:06 pm
    • Mariners set rotation for series against Astros
Luis Castillo will start Friday’s series opener against the Astros.

Advice: The real surprise here is that it’ll be George Kirby and Bryan Woo taking the ball this weekend against the division-rival Astros. However, Seattle manager Scott Servais told reporters recently that they don’t want Woo to have an extended break between starts. It’s possible those long layoffs have been leading to physical issues. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:42 pm
    • Pivetta, Bello, Crawford will start vs LAD
The Boston Red Sox announced that Nick Pivetta, Brayan Bello, and Kutter Crawford would start their three-game series against the Dodgers this weekend.

Advice: Nick Pivetta will start on Friday, Brayan Bello will start on Saturday and then Kutter Crawford will start on Sunday. Each can perform well against the Dodgers without a fully healthy lineup, but there is significant risk, especially with Bello. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:36 am

    • Replaced on All-Star roster
Helsley was replaced Monday on the National League All-Star Game roster with Nationals reliever Kyle Finnegan.

Advice: Per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Helsley said that he wasn't likely to pitch in Tuesday's All-Star Game and instead wished to get rest over the All-Star break. The 29-year-old closer confirmed he was healthy and is merely monitoring his workload, having already appeared in 41 games and thrown 42 innings this season. Helsley's career high in appearances is 54, and he hasn't pitched more than 64.2 innings in any individual season. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:46 pm
