    • Gerrit Cole throws another bullpen session Tuesday
Gerrit Cole (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: Cole is scheduled to throw another bullpen session this weekend and is apparently looking at a mid-June return timetable at this point. The 33-year-old reigning AL Cy Young Award winner should progress to facing hitters at some point in the coming weeks before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago
    • Shane Baz (elbow) makes rehab start at Triple-A
Shane Baz (elbow) allowed three runs over three innings last Saturday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Baz has finally progressed to rehab outings after missing the first couple weeks of the year due to ongoing elbow and oblique issues. He topped out at 97 mph on his fastball and threw 39 pitches in his rehab debut. The 24-year-old righty is expected to be an option for Tampa Bay’s starting rotation at some point this summer, but remains without a definitive return target date as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. • Kodai Senga to throw another bullpen this week
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is scheduled to throw another bullpen session this week.

Advice: Senga faced hitters over the weekend in a live batting practice session and could do so again in the coming days before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. The 31-year-old righty isn’t expected to make his season debut until late May or early June, barring something unexpected. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago
    • Bryan Bello returning Sunday against Nationals
Bryan Bello (lat) struck out five over 2 2/3 innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start for Double-A Portland.

Advice: Bello told reporters following the 52-pitch rehab outing that he’ll start on Sunday against the Nationals at Fenway Park instead of making any additional rehab tune-ups. The 24-year-old righty has been out since late April due to right lat tightness. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago
    • Marlins option Roddery Muñoz to Triple-A
Marlins optioned RHP Roddery Muñoz to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: Muñoz heads back to the minors after surrendering six runs on seven hits, including four homers, over 4 2/3 innings during Monday’s series opener against the Dodgers. The 24-year-old righty holds a pedestrian 5.17 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 19/7 K/BB ratio across 15 2/3 innings (three starts) this season in the majors. Rotoworld Today, 4:26 pm
    • Returning Sunday
Bello (lat) said Tuesday that he will start Sunday's game against the Nationals, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Bello made a rehab appearance Tuesday at Double-A Portland, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out five batters across 2.2 innings. Despite his unremarkable performance, the right-hander said he came away from the start without any pain and is ready to return to Boston's rotation. Bello holds a 3.04 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 26.2 innings so far this year. Rotowire.com Today, 4:25 pm
    • Rough day vs. Texas
Stripling (1-6) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing 11 runs (five earned) on 10 hits and two walks over 1.2 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: It was certainly an outing to forget for Stripling -- after allowing a leadoff homer to Marcus Semien in the first inning, the right-hander allowed the first seven batters to reach in the second as Texas would put up a 10 spot in the frame. Stripling had held opponents to three runs or fewer in four straight starts prior to Wednesday's implosion. His ERA is now up to 5.14 with a 1.57 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB through eight starts (42 innings) this year. Stripling will look to get back on track in his next outing, tentatively lined up for this weekend in Seattle. Rotowire.com Today, 4:09 pm

    • Optioned to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Munoz to Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Advice: Munoz will head back to the minors after giving up six earned runs in 4.2 innings during Monday's loss to the Dodgers. George Soriano was recalled from Jacksonville to fill Munoz's roster spot, though Jesus Luzardo (elbow) and Braxton Garrett (shoulder) could return from their rehab assignments within the next several days to help fill the open spot in Miami's rotation. • Earns win in first start
Urena (1-2) earned the win Wednesday against Oakland, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Urena was able to minimize the damage through his first two innings before holding the A's to just one baserunner (who reached on an error) over his final three frames. The 32-year-old Urena had allowed four earned runs over 3.2 innings in his previous two appearances out of the bullpen. His ERA sits at 3.86 with a 1.29 WHIP and 18:11 K:BB this season. With Nathan Eovaldi (groin) working his way back from the IL, Urena will likely return to a relief role. Rotowire.com Today, 4:03 pm
