    Advice: Ryan got through four innings unscathed while racking up eight of his 10 strikeouts over that span. He found himself in some immediate trouble in the fifth after allowing a leadoff triple and wound up surrendering two runs in the inning following a pair of base knocks and a fielding error. Sunday was Ryan's second double-digit strikeout performance this season and his second straight outing without walking a batter. He's given up two runs or less in four of his last five starts, though that's only amounted to one win.   • Dominates Orioles on Sunday night
    Heaney (3-9) got the win Sunday against the Orioles, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out 10 over seven innings.

    Advice: Heaney had his most dominant start of the season, compiling double-digit strikeouts for the first time since he had 11 back in August of 2023. Sunday was also just the second time since May 11 that he's managed to not give up a walk. The Orioles pushed runs across in both the second and fourth innings but otherwise did not threaten and Heaney finished strong by striking out the side in the seventh. He's now allowed three earned runs or less in each of his last 12 starts. His record is deceiving due to the fact that the Rangers had scored a total of 30 runs in his first 15 starts this season. The 33-year-old southpaw will carry a 4.04 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 85:22 K:BB (84.2 innings) into a start against the Rays over the weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:53 am

  • Handed loss in St. Louis
    Grene (5-4) allowed a run on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Cardinals.

    Advice: Greene kept St. Louis off the board until Alec Burleson knocked an RBI single in the fifth inning. While that was the only run charged against Greene, Cincinnati was shut out, leaving him with the tough-luck loss. While he needed 95 pitches to get through 4.2 frames, he managed to force 16 swinging strikes. Greene has failed to complete five innings in two straight outings and has just one quality start over his last six appearances.     Andrew Heaney pitched seven innings of two-run ball and struck out 10 Sunday in a win over the Orioles.

    Advice: It’s just Heaney’s second win versus nine losses in 16 starts (he does have one more win from his lone relief appearance). We wouldn’t trust Heaney to finish the year in the rotation of a Rangers team that’s still hoping to get Tyler Mahle, Cody Bradford and Jacob deGrom back from the injured list, but he has a solid enough 4.06 ERA at the moment, and he’s a decent play with a home start against the Rays up next.     Joe Ryan recorded 10 strikeouts and was charged with two runs (one earned) over 5 2/3 innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

    Advice: Ryan delivered an outstanding performance on Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Park, generating 16 swinging strikes - including 11 on his four-seam fastball alone - and finished with a near-elite 36 percent CSW. He gave up six hits and didn’t hand out a free pass, although he did hit a pair of batters as well. The 28-year-old upper-echelon fantasy contributor recorded his second double-digit strikeout performance of the season and will aim to keep the momentum going when he faces the Astros on Saturday in his penultimate outing prior to the All-Star break.   • Tyler Anderson hit hard Sunday in loss to Tigers
    Tyler Anderson was lit up for six runs over 4 2/3 innings on Sunday in a loss to the Tigers.

    Advice: Anderson was shelled for seven hits, including a two-run homer by Tigers rookie Justyn-Henry Malloy. He finished with just two strikeouts and only issued one walk. The 34-year-old southpaw has experienced some significant pullback in the run-prevention department over the last few weeks as his ERA has ballooned from 2.47 back on May 29 to a more league-average 3.03 mark by the end of June.     Hendricks (1-6) took the loss Sunday against the Brewers, surrendering seven earned runs on seven hits and one walk in 3.2 innings. He struck out three.

    Advice: Hendricks kept the Brewers off the scoreboard over the first three innings before a disastrous fourth inning in which he gave up seven earned runs, including a grand slam to Brice Turang. The 34-year-old veteran was enjoying a renaissance in June, pitching to a 1.27 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, and 16:4 K:BB across 21.1 innings before Sunday's disaster. The right-hander will have to go back to the drawing board to improve his ugly 7.48 ERA. His next start is tentatively scheduled for next weekend against the Angels. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:00 pm

    Bradley (3-4) earned the win Sunday, allowing no runs on three hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against the Nationals. He struck out 11.

    Advice: Bradley held the Nationals off the board while matching a season high in strikeouts. Since allowing nine runs and four homers against Baltimore on June 1, Bradley has been on a heater, posting five-consecutive starts allowing two earned runs or fewer while accumulating double-digit strikeout totals during two of those outings. During that stretch, he's completed 29 innings, allowing just four earned runs (1.24 ERA) with a 1.00 WHIP and 40 strikeouts.     Crochet came away with a no-decision in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies in 14 innings, striking out 11 over seven frames while allowing two earned runs on five hits and zero walks.

    Advice: After Crochet had thrown 85 and 91 pitches in his prior two starts, White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Tuesday that the lefty's workload was "going to start dwindling" moving forward while the White Sox look to prioritize his long-term health. Even though he was mowing down the Colorado lineup for most of the afternoon, Crochet was still pulled after tossing 88 pitches and covering seven innings. If Crochet's pitch count continues to hover around the 85-to-90 range in his future starts, it could hurt his chances of coming away with wins, though he's notched only six wins through his first 18 starts while he's been supported by a weak White Sox lineup. Even so, Crochet remains a must-start fantasy option as long as he's active, as he's thus far provided elite ratios whenever he's taken the hill. The southpaw now owns a 3.02 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and a league-leading 141 strikeouts over 101.1 innings this season. He's tentatively scheduled for a road start in Miami next weekend.
