      Doval (3-1) allowed a run on one hit and struck out one over over inning, blowing a save but earning the win Friday over the Dodgers.

      Advice: Doval allowed a triple to Andy Pages, who came home on a Jason Heyward sacrifice fly that tied the game at 3-3 in the ninth inning. The Giants then got a walk-off home run from Brett Wisely to make Doval the pitcher of record despite his poor outing. He's given up nine runs over nine innings in June, though a pair of four-run meltdowns account for much of that damage.       Camilo Doval gave up a run and blew a save Friday, but picked up the win against the Dodgers.

      Advice: Doval gets the win because the stat is flawless and baseball is a fair and just sport. The right-hander gave up a triple to James Outman, and a sac fly from Jason Heyward tied the game at 3-3.       Padres transferred RHP Joe Musgrove to the 60-day injured list.

      Advice: Nothing has changed in the prognosis for the 31-year-old hurler, this was done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster for Austin Davis to join the bullpen on Friday.       Advice: Doval entered the contest with a one-run lead in the ninth and surrendered a leadoff single to Dansby Swanson before retiring the next three batters in succession to secure his 14th save of the campaign. The right-hander has now converted each of his last five save attempts and has allowed only one baserunner over his last three appearances.       Miller did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 4-3 win against the White Sox, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over two innings. He struck out one.

      Advice: The Dodgers right-hander labored through just two innings against a feeble White Sox lineup, requiring 60 pitches with only 32 percent being in the zone. Miller has been unsteady since returning from the injured list June 19, generating a 8.64 ERA and 3:4 K:BB across 8.1 innings versus two weak opponents -- Chicago and Colorado.     • Bobby Miller allows 3 ER in short outing vs. CWS
      Bobby Miller allowed three earned runs over two innings in Tuesday’s win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Miller surrendered a two-run homer to Andrew Benintendi in the bottom of the first inning, and later saw an Eloy Jiménez double bring Luis Robert Jr. around to score. Miller allowed four baserunners in the frame and needed 38 pitches to get out of the inning but was pulled after the second inning and 60 pitches. It was just Miller’s fifth start of the season and his second-shortest outing on the year, as he was erratic for much of the night, with only 33 of his pitches going for strikes. The young righty has allowed three earned runs or more in three of his starts this season and saw his ERA jump to 6.75 after Tuesday’s outing.       Skubal (9-3) tossed seven scoreless innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Phillies. He allowed three hits and a walk while striking out seven.

      Advice: Skubal came into Tuesday in a bit of a slump, as he had allowed nine runs (eight earned) across 10.1 total innings in his previous two starts, which were both losses. The lefty got back on track in a big way, however, with a dominant performance against a tough Philadelphia lineup. It was the sixth time this season that Skubal didn't allow any runs in an outing, which is a big reason why he's sitting with a 2.32 ERA, good for fourth in the majors. Detroit's ace is having an outstanding year, and he'll look to keep rolling in his next scheduled appearance, which is tentatively set for next Tuesday against the Twins. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:44 pm
