    • Registers second steal
Hedges went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Hedges has hit safely in his last three games, going 3-for-8 in that span. The backup catcher has had a tough time seeing steady action with Bo Naylor and David Fry both ahead of him on the depth chart. Hedges is at a .154/.188/.246 slash line with one home run, two steals, nine RBI and six runs scored over 69 plate appearances. He should not be expected to produce much offense even on the rare occasions he's in the lineup. Rotowire.com Today, 12:00 am
    • Goes deep in win
Soderstrom went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Soderstrom has hit all but one of his homers this season over his last 17 games, batting .262 (16-for-61) in that span. The 22-year-old is at a .229/.321/.449 slash line with seven homers, 18 RBI, 12 runs scored and five doubles across 41 contests overall. He's seen regular playing time at first base against right-handed pitchers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:18 pm
    • Adds to huge June
Higashioka went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Friday's 9-2 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: All nine of the Padres' runs came in an incredible fifth inning that saw them bat around before recording an out, and Higashioka got the offensive eruption started by crushing a Nick Pivetta sweeper over the Green Monster. The veteran backstop is having the best month of his career in June, batting .292 (14-for-48) over 16 games with an eye-popping eight homers and 19 RBI -- his career high in homers for a season is only 10. Luis Campusano (thumb) is expected back off the IL in early July, but he will have a hard time wresting significant playing time back from Higashioka given the latter's current form. • Miguel Amaya strikes out twice, gets lifted
Miguel Amaya struck out in both of his at-bats before being replaced by a pinch-hitter Friday against the Brewers.

Advice: It’s hard not to think that Yan Gomes would still be with the Cubs if Amaya weren’t hitting so badly that the team felt it had to make some sort of change. Amaya is currently at .192/.251/.263 in 184 plate appearances. Statcast believes he’s been quite unlucky, but just to the point at which he should be merely significantly below average, rather than having the sixth worst OPS among all players with 150 plate appearances. • Catching in AZL on Saturday
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Moreno (thumb) will catch five innings in an Arizona Complex League game Saturday, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Moreno was placed on the injured list June 22 due to a sprained left thumb, but Lovullo said earlier in the week that he expects the catcher to return after the minimum 10 days. Barring any setbacks this weekend, Moreno will be eligible to return Tuesday for the beginning of the Diamondbacks' road series against the Dodgers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:26 pm

    • Out of Cleveland lineup
Naylor is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Kansas City.

Advice: Naylor has now been out of the lineup for two of the last three games and five of the last nine tilts. Austin Hedges will do the catching for Triston McKenzie in this one. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:33 pm
    • Sitting against southpaw
Rice is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Toronto.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Rice will get a breather as southpaw Yusei Kikuchi takes the mound for the Blue Jays. Instead, J.D. Davis will get the start at first base and bat fourth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:15 pm

    • Rejoining Cincinnati
The reds selected Wynns' contract from Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

Advice: The 33-year-old will rejoin the Reds with starting catcher Tyler Stephenson being placed on the Paternity List. Wynns is slashing .250/.309/.410 with 16 RBI so far this season in Louisville. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:02 pm
    • Reds call up Austin Wynns from Triple-A
Reds selected the contract of C Austin Wynns from Triple-A Louisville.

Advice: The move comes just three days after he was outright to Triple-A. He’ll serve as the backup to Luke Maile for the next couple of days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:01 pm
