• Helsley records 14th save Monday
Ryan Helsley picked up his 14th save of the season against the Orioles on Monday.

Advice: Helsley pitched another scoreless ninth inning, which was his 15th consecutive appearance without allowing an earned run. He walked Austin Hays with two outs before getting Cedric Mullens to fly out to end the game. Helsley last allowed an earned run on April 8th. Since then he has converted 11 saves and finished 14 games. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

  • Henderson blasts 16th home run Monday
Gunnar Henderson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Henderson accounted for all the Orioles’ runs on the night. He blasted his league-leading 16th home run in the sixth inning off Sonny Gray, who hadn’t allowed a single hit at that point in the game. The 22-year-old is up to .271 with a .961 OPS and 34 RBI on the season. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • Turns in quality start
Gilbert allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out one during the win over the Yankees.

Advice: Gilbert coughed up two runs in the first inning but was still able to settle in for a quality start. He produced a stellar 1.69 ERA through his first seven starts but has seen that climb to 3.20 after allowing 14 runs over his last 16.2 frames. On the bright side, two of those outings were quality starts. Gilbert recorded only one strikeout with five whiffs, with both setting new season lows. His next start is lined up to be in Washington this weekend. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Siani hits first home run Monday
Michael Siani went 2-for-4 with a steal and a three-run home run and four RBI against the Orioles on Monday.

Advice: Siani started the scoring with an RBI single off Dean Kremer in the second inning and also delivered the knockout blow in the fourth inning with a three-run homer off Kremer. The home run was his first of the year and the steal was his fifth. Siani is hitting .238 with just a .612 OPS this year. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • Reese Olson (hip) expects to make next start
Reese Olson is optimistic that he won’t miss any additional time after leaving his start Monday with a right hip contusion.

Advice: Olson said he blacked out for a second after the ball hit him, which definitely tracks with how he looked initially. Fortunately, there shouldn’t be any lasting damage. Olson did wind up taking another tough loss to the Royals after leaving down 2-0 the third. He’s now 0-5 in spite of a 2.16 ERA. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Gray appears to ask out of game Monday
Sonny Gray allowed one earned run, struck out six in 5 2/3 innings, picked up the win and appeared to ask Cardinals manager Oli Marmol to remove him from the game in the Cardinals 6-3 victory over the Orioles on Monday.

Advice: We’ll have another update on Gray’s status when we know more. The win was Gray’s sixth of the season. He cruised through the first five innings. In the sixth inning, after two men reached on an errors, he allowed a three-run home run to Gunnar Henderson. Four batters later, he appeared to ask out of the game and was removed for JoJo Romero, who escaped the jam. The 34-year-old right-hander is tentatively scheduled to face the Cubs at home on Saturday.

  • Gets hit hard Monday
Wentz allowed five runs on five hits out of the bullpen while not retiring a single batter in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Wentz had his first true disaster outing of the season, which included allowing his first home run of the year to Salvador Perez. The lefty came into the game with a stellar 1.08 ERA but departed with that figure up to 3.78. One bad appearance doesn't undo nearly two months of solid play, though after Wentz struggled mightily in 2023, it was fair to expect some regression after his great start to the season. • Kremer allows five in loss Monday
Dean Kremer allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Kremer gave up an RBI single to Michael Siani, an RBI double to Masyn Winn and a three-run home run to Michael Siani. He allowed six hits total, walked three and struck out only two. His ERA is now 4.32 on the season and the loss was his fourth of the year. Kremer has 49 strikeouts in 50 innings on the season and a 1.12 WHIP, but you have to wonder if the Orioles might look for an upgrade in their rotation eventually. The 28-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the White Sox on the road on Saturday.

  • Tallies three hits Monday
Keith went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: While Keith is batting just .214 overall, he's been better in May with a .350 batting average across 14 games. It's a promising development for the rookie, who batted .306 across two levels in the minors last season. It can take young players some time to translate minor-league production into MLB success, but it seems like Keith is starting to turn the corner, and he has the talent to finish his debut campaign on a high note.
