• Out of Minnesota lineup
Kepler is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Tigers.

Advice: It's tough left-hander Tarik Skubal on the hill for Detroit, so the left-handed hitting Kepler will begin this one on the bench. Manuel Margot is in right field and also hitting leadoff for the Twins. Rotowire.com Today, 11:44 am

  • Taking seat Tuesday
Olivares is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals.

Advice: He's been the preferred option over Connor Joe in right field for the Pirates lately, but Joe is getting the call there for Tuesday's contest. Olivares had started seven of the previous eight contests. Rotowire.com Today, 11:42 am

  • Kerry Carpenter (back) making slow progress
Tigers manager AJ Hinch told reporters that Kerry Carpenter (back) continues to make progress and participate in baseball activities.

Advice: Hinch also noted that the progress is still slow for Carpenter as he works his way back from the lumbar injury that has sidelined the 26-year-old since the end of May. The outfielder will surely need a rehab assignment after missing over a month, but it’s feasible that Carpenter could help fantasy rosters and Detroit after the All-Star break. • Two stolen bases against Nats
Bader went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases in Monday's extra-inning win over the Nationals.

Advice: Batting second against southpaw MacKenzie Gore, Bader was disruptive from the top of the order, singling and swiping second base in the sixth and seventh innings. The 30-year-old center fielder has reeled off four two-hit performances in his last six starts, batting .360 (9-for-25) during that stretch with three doubles, two homers, four steals, four RBI and eight runs. • Swipes ninth bag
Springer went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: The veteran outfielder extended his hitting streak to six games while pilfering his ninth bag of the year in nine attempts. Springer is batting .550 (11-for-20) with two doubles, three homers, four runs and 10 RBI during his heater, but he still has a long way to go climb out of his early-season hole -- his .641 OPS is well below his .824 career mark. • Could return Tuesday
Laureano (back) might be ready to rejoin the Atlanta lineup Tuesday against the Giants, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old hasn't played since Wednesday due to a sore back. "He's not capable (of playing yet)," manager Brian Snitker said Saturday. "We won't probably use him off the bench. We'll shoot for Tuesday, with tomorrow and the day off. There is enough still going on that I'm hoping with these extra days we can get him built up." Laureano has looked good in his new uniform, going 9-for-35 (.257) with four doubles and a homer over 11 games. In his absence, Adam Duvall has started four straight games in right field. • Brenton Doyle homers twice to lead Rockies
Brenton Doyle homered twice, doubled and walked Monday as the Rockies edged the Brewers 8-7 in 10 innings.

Advice: Doyle’s second homer tied the game in the bottom of the eighth. The center fielder was dropped from second to seventh in the Rockies lineup before the game, presumably because he’d hit .200/.225/.292 in his previous 16 games. The two homers gave him nine or the year, and he also swiped his 20th base. We’re not big believers in Doyle’s offense from an OPS standpoint, but with Coors Field helping him along, he likely will have lasting value in mixed leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm
  • Nolan Jones collects two hits in Rockies’ win
Nolan Jones went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a walk versus the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: The second hit also would have been at least a double, but it hit first base umpire Brian O’Nora on its way down the first base line, resulting in a single. Jones has had issues with strikeouts since coming off the IL last month, but he’s hitting the ball harder than he did in April and drawing a bunch of walks (12 in 15 games). He should prove pretty useful in mixed leagues the rest of the way. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm

  • Garrett Mitchell reaches twice in 2024 debut
Garrett Mitchell singled and walked in three plate appearances off the bench in his season debut Monday against the Rockies.

Advice: The single was hit 108 mph, so this was definitely a nice start for Mitchell. It’ll take consistent playing time to make him a factor in mixed leagues, so he’s probably not an option right now. He offers plenty of upside, though. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm
