• Sitting Tuesday
Neto isn't in the Angels' lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Neto will get a rare day off after going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored during Monday's series opener. Luis Guillorme will fill in at shortstop while Kyren Paris mans the keystone. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Cora: Vaughn Grissom lost 14 pounds while sick
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters Tuesday that Vaughn Grissom lost 14 pounds due to illness earlier this month.

Advice: This certainly helps explain some of his struggles out of the gate as he’s batting .152 (5-for-33) with one extra-base hit and two RBI through eight games in his Red Sox debut. It’s been a strange few injury-plagued months for the 23-year-old middle infielder since arriving in Boston in the Chris Sale trade. If he can get back into a normal routine for a few weeks, it could help him re-discover his form at the plate. Rotoworld Today, 1:37 pm
  • Francisco Lindor goes 0-for-4 in loss to Phillies
Francisco Lindor went 0-for-4 against the Phillies in Tuesday’s loss.

Advice: Lindor has had some big games these last few weeks, but the consistency still isn’t there at all; this is the third time in four games and the 19th time in 40 starts this season that he’s gone without a hit. He’s at .204/.272/.383 overall. Rotoworld Today, 1:11 pm
  • Back from injured list
Urshela (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and is starting at third base Tuesday against the Marlins, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: The 32-year-old landed on the shelf with a strained hamstring April 20, but he's ready to rejoin the Tigers after a three-game rehab assignment, during which he went 5-for-8 with a walk, an RBI and two runs. Prior to the injury, Urshela posted a .298 average through 18 games but didn't provide much pop with just two extra-base hits (both doubles). Rotowire.com Today, 1:00 pm

  • Gio Urshela gets activated, draws start for Tigers
Tigers activated 3B Gio Urshela from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Urshela is playing third base and batting sixth tonight against Marlins lefty Ryan Weathers. He should be a lineup fixture versus southpaws and also see a fair amount of time against righties, with Matt Vierling seeing occasional outfield duty in those situations. Rotoworld Today, 12:58 pm

  • Idle for first game
DeJong is out of the lineup for the first game of a doubleheader against the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: The 30-year-old will give way to Braden Shewmake at shortstop. DeJong will likely re-enter the lineup for the nightcap with a southpaw (Mitchell Parker) set to start for the Nationals. Rotowire.com Today, 11:21 am

  • Paul DeJong sitting for first game of doubleheader
Paul DeJong is not in the starting lineup for the first game of a doubleheader against the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: DeJong has swung the bat well thus far in May with a .955 OPS and three homers. He’ll get the first game off before likely returning to the lineup for the second contest of the twin billing. Braden Shewmake is playing shortstop in his absence. Rotoworld Today, 11:19 am

  • Lengthy power outage
Amador is slashing .138/.312/.149 with zero home runs, 12 steals and more walks (19) than strikeouts (17) in 25 games for Double-A Hartford.

Advice: Coming into the year, Amador was seen as one of the best pure hitters in the minors, so it's a bit jarring to see his batting average sitting at .138 through the first five weeks of the season. Perhaps more concerning though, is Amador's complete lack of power, as his .171 BABIP and overly patient approach largely explain his low batting average. Amador's 20.6 percent hard-hit rate and 63.2 percent groundball rate are very troubling marks. He is playing half his games in Hartford, which is essentially a neutral hitting environment, after getting to play half his High-A games at the very hitter-friendly park in Spokane, which helped him slug .514 in 54 High-A games last year. • Swats third homer
Merrill went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's loss to Colorado.

Advice: Merrill was the only Padre with multiple hits in the contest, and his seventh-inning solo shot brought the team to within one run, though it turned out to be the final tally of the game. The rookie has notched consecutive multi-hit performances and has multiple hits in four of his past eight contests overall, so he could be back on the rise following an eight-game stretch from late April to early May during which he went 1-for-23 at the plate. Merrill still has a strong .291/.342/.403 slash line along with three homers, 17 RBI, 18 runs and six stolen bases on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 9:42 am
