    • Returned to Triple-A
Kerr was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett after Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the Padres.

Advice: Kerr had a shaky performance his last time out Sunday against the Padres, surrendering two runs on four hits while striking out four over 3.1 innings of work. He'll return to Triple-A following Monday's move, where he's posted a 4.50 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with 22 strikeouts over 14 frames. Rotowire.com Today, 7:16 pm

    • Braves option Ray Kerr to Triple-A
Braves optioned LHP Ray Kerr to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: Kerr goes despite not pitching in today’s doubleheader, though he did work hard Sunday. It sounds like the Braves might want to evaluate him as a rotation option, so perhaps he’ll start a couple of games at Gwinnett and then rejoin the team. He had a 2.89 ERA in 9 1/3 innings over four relief appearances during his time in the majors. Rotoworld Today, 7:12 pm

    • Blows save against Miami
Megill blew the save in Monday's loss to the Marlins. He allowed one run on two hits and no walks over one inning while striking out one.

Advice: Megill gathered the first two outs of the ninth inning on three pitches before yielding a single to Nick Gordon. Gordon promptly stole second and then was subsequently driven home via an Otto Lopez single to tie the game. This is Megill's first blown save of the season, so he should maintain his role as the Milwaukee closer. Rotowire.com Today, 7:12 pm
    • Trevor Megill takes blown save Monday vs. Marlins
Trevor Megill allowed one run in the ninth inning on Monday against the Marlins in a blown save.

Advice: Megill got the call to protect a one-run lead in the ninth inning and wound up surrendering a game-tying single to Otto Lopez with two outs in the frame. It was only his first blown save of the season in seven opportunities. The 30-year-old righty figures to continue serving as Milwaukee’s primary stopper until Devin Williams is ready to return sometime around midseason. Rotoworld Today, 7:03 pm
    • Holmes blows second save Monday
Clay Holmes blew his second save of the season against the Mariners on Monday.

Advice: Holmes hadn’t allowed an earned run all season. He entered with a 4-1 lead against the Mariners. After a Josh Rojas ground to begin the ninth inning, the floodgates opened. Julio Rodriguez hit an infield single. Cal Raleigh walked. Luke Raley hit an infield single and Gleyber Torres threw the ball into the Yankees dugout to make it 4-2. Mitch Haniger singled to center to make it 4-3. Dylan Moore walked. Dominic Canzone hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game and Ty France singled on a ground ball to give the Mariners the lead. In all, Holmes allowed four earned runs and only recorded two outs without allowing any hard contact. His ERA is up to 1.74 on the season.

    • Expected to require surgery
Whitlock has damage in his left UCL and will likely need surgery, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Whitlock was shut down from throwing after he reported soreness in his right elbow Wednesday, and after further evaluation, it's been discovered that he has ligament damage. The right-hander will see a doctor in Birmingham later in the week, as he could be in the process of seeking a second opinion before electing surgery. Rotowire.com Today, 6:22 pm
    • Elbow surgery a possibility for Garrett Whitlock
Garrett Whitlock has UCL damage in his elbow and will receive a second opinion later this week.

Advice: Unfortunate, but it did seem like was coming. Assuming that Whitlock has surgery, he’ll almost certainly miss the rest of the season, and his return next year might come as a reliever. Rotoworld Today, 6:17 pm
    • Emmanuel Clase lowers ERA to 0.37 on Monday
Emmanuel Clase tossed a perfect ninth inning on Monday against the Mets to record his league-leading 14th save of the season.

Advice: Clase was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and needed just 12 pitches (seven strikes) to end the contest. The 26-year-old elite stopper has converted a major league-leading 14 of 17 save opportunities to go along with a microscopic 0.37 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 24/2 K/BB ratio across 24 1/3 innings (25 appearances). He hasn’t allowed an earned run since April 14. Rotoworld Today, 6:03 pm
    • Ben Lively strikes out seven to defeat Mets
Ben Lively allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings on Monday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: Lively’s unexpected hot start continued in this one as he allowed three earned runs or fewer for the seventh consecutive start since making his season debut back on April 17. He matched a season-high with seven strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. A third-inning solo shot by light-hitting backstop Tomás Nido represented the lone tally against him in this one. He’ll bring a strong 2.84 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 38/12 K/BB ratio across 38 innings (seven starts) into a favorable road matchup on Sunday against the Angels. Rotoworld Today, 6:02 pm
