• Joey Meneses homers, drives in three in victory
Joey Meneses went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI to power the Nationals to a 4-0 win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Meneses put the Nationals on the board in the first inning with a sacrifice fly. He later gave the team a pair of insurance runs in the eighth with a two-run blast off Andrew Nardi for his third homer of the season. The 32-year-old first baseman is slashing .244/.305/.332 with 36 RBI across 243 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 3:21 pm

  • George Springer scores twice in win over Guardians
George Springer went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and one RBI in the Blue Jays’ 5-0 win over the Guardians on Saturday.

Advice: Springer brought the first run in to score for the Blue Jays, knocking a base hit in the second inning before scoring on a single by Spencer Horwitz. Springer then drew a walk to lead off the fourth and cross home plate to score on a single by Isiah Kiner-Falefa. The 34-year-old outfielder is slashing .198/.291/.293 with five homers, 30 runs scored, and eight steals across 265 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 2:39 pm

  • Carlos Carrasco surrenders five runs in loss
Carlos Carrasco allowed five runs with two strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Advice: Carrasco started with a clean first inning, then ran into some trouble in the second. The Blue Jays would bring two runs in on a walk and three hits before Carrasco could record an out. He got out of the frame with three runs scored. A walk and a hit made it four runs after four innings. Carrasco hit two batters in the fifth and allowed one more run before his day was done. The 37-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 5.80 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and a 44/21 K/BB ratio across 59 innings. He’ll take on the Blue Jays once again in Cleveland on Friday. • Andre Pallante gives up two runs in brief outing
Andre Pallante was charged with two runs (one earned) over 3 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Pallante turned in a perfect opening frame before engineering a masterful escape after giving up back-to-back hits to open the second inning. He got into trouble in the fourth inning after giving up consecutive hits to open the frame and was lifted for reliever Chris Roycroft after striking out Ian Happ and wound up being charged with a pair of runs following his departure. He struck out four and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 25-year-old righty figures to continue operating in a swingman-type role for the Cardinals moving forward. Rotoworld Today, 1:50 pm

  • Colt Keith collects two hits in loss to Astros
Colt Keith went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles as the Tigers were shut out by the Astros on Friday evening in Houston.

Advice: As a team, the Tigers were only able to muster five total hits against Hunter Brown and company on Friday night, with Keith the only member of the squad to have more than one. The 22-year-old’s bat has started to heat up after a miserable start to his MLB career, but he’s still slashing an underwhelming .222/.273/.284 with just two homers, 19 RBI and three stolen bases in 60 games on the season. • Likely to pitch Saturday
Francis is a candidate to start or serve in a bulk relief role Saturday against the Guardians, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: The Blue Jays are declining to name a starter at this point, but Francis is likely to be their primary pitcher, whether it's as a traditional starter or a bulk reliever. Francis went four scoreless innings in a start his last time out but holds a 7.36 ERA over seven appearances (three starts) this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:11 pm

  • On verge of rehab assignment
Polanco (hamstring) is slated to run the bases before Thursday's game against the White Sox and then head out on a rehab assignment, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Advice: Polanco has been progressively ramping up his level of activity in recent days, apparently without any setbacks. MLB.com reports that general manager Justin Hollander indicated team trainers would jointly assess Polanco's condition with the veteran infielder following Thursday's activity, at which point the length of the rehab assignment would likely be determined. • Sitting against left-hander
Keith is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Southpaw Patrick Corbin is on the bump for the Nationals, so the left-handed-hitting Keith will begin the contest on the bench. Andy Ibanez will handle second base for the Tigers. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:59 am
