• Teoscar Hernández homers, Dodgers fillet Marlins
Teoscar Hernández went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Wednesday, powering the Dodgers to a 3-1 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Hernández was a one-man wrecking crew, taking full advantage of a tasty matchup for him against young southpaw Ryan Weathers, delivering a run-scoring single in the opening frame before crushing a two-run blast in the sixth inning. It was the lefty-mashing veteran slugger’s 10th round-tripper of the season and fourth time he’s gone deep in his last six contests. Rotoworld Today, 2:35 pm

  • Daniel Hudson notches save Wednesday vs Marlins
Daniel Hudson tossed a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Marlins to record his second save of the season.

Advice: Hudson got the call to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and tossed a flawless frame on 12 pitches (10 strikes). It’s worth noting that both Blake Treinen and Alex Vesia might’ve been unavailable after pitching during Monday’s series opener. This was Hudson’s first outing since an ugly blown save last Friday against the Braves. It’ll presumably remain a closer by committee situation with Hudson, Treinen and Vesia splitting the ninth-inning duties until Evan Phillips is ready to return from the injured list at some point later this month. • Gavin Stone quiets Marlins to collect third win
Gavin Stone yielded one run over seven innings on Wednesday in a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Stone was excellent during Wednesday afternoon’s matinee at Dodger Stadium, limiting Miami’s floundering lineup to just a fourth-inning solo shot from Bryan De La Cruz over seven frames. He finished with four strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 25-year-old former top pitching prospect has held his own this season in his first extended chance in the big leagues, compiling a respectable 3.55 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 27/13 K/BB ratio across 38 innings (seven starts). He’ll face the division-rival Giants on Tuesday his next time out. Rotoworld Today, 2:32 pm

  • Ryan Weathers coughs up three runs in loss
Ryan Weathers surrendered three runs over six innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Weathers was unable to solve lefty-masher Teoscar Hernández, who delivered a run-scoring single before tagging him for a two-run shot with two outs in the sixth inning. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. He’ll carry a serviceable 4.54 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 34/16 K/BB ratio across 41 2/3 innings (eight starts) into a road outing on Tuesday against the Tigers. Rotoworld Today, 2:32 pm

  • Robert Suarez notches 12th save on Wednesday
Robert Suarez fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Cubs to notch his 12th save of the season.

Advice: Suarez got the call to guard a three-run lead in the final frame and neeeded just 11 pitches (seven strikes) to spin a flawless frame. The hard-throwing 33-year-old stopper has converted all 12 of his save opportunities this season to accompany a microscopic 0.55 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 15/4 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings (15 appearances). Simply put, he’s emerged as one of the best closers in baseball, which has made him one of the best values in offseason fantasy drafts. Rotoworld Today, 2:17 pm
  • Dylan Cease hurls 12-strikeout gem versus Cubs
Dylan Cease recorded a season-high 12 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Cubs.

Advice: Cease was simply magnificent during Wednesday afternoon’s matinee at Wrigley Field, inducing a surreal 24 swinging strikes, including 12 on his slider alone, and finished with an elite 39 percent CSW. He limited Chicago’s formidable offense to just three baserunners, one hit and a pair of walks, over seven nearly-flawless frames. His 12 strikeouts were just one shy of his previous career-high mark set back on June 26, 2022. The 28-year-old fantasy ace has been outstanding in his San Diego debut, allowing two earned runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts. He’ll bring a stellar 2.19 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 60/16 K/BB ratio across 49 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a tasty home matchup on Tuesday against the Rockies at Petco Park. • Brice Turang collects three hits in Brewers’ loss
Brice Turang went 3-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday in the Brewers’ loss to the Royals.

Advice: Turang capped off a three-hit performance with a run-scoring double off Royals reliever Tyler Duffey in the ninth inning, but wound up being stranded in scoring position representing the potential tying run. The 24-year-old speedster has made the most of his opportunity this season, emerging as Milwaukee’s everyday second baseman, posting an .826 OPS with two homers and 14 steals through 34 contests so far. • Homer, five RBI in win
Semien went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, five total RBI and three total runs scored in Tuesday's 15-8 victory over the Athletics.

Advice: Semien led off the game with a solo blast off Ross Stripling before driving in three more runs with a pair of hits in the Rangers' 10-run second inning. Semien would add a fifth RBI with his fourth hit in the fourth. The 33-year-old second-baseman had gone nine games without a homer prior to Wednesday's contest, going 8-for-40 with just two RBI in that span. He's now slashing .266/.314/.449 through 37 games this season with six homers, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and a stolen base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:56 pm

  • Marcus Semien powers Rangers to 15-8 rout of A’s
Marcus Semien went 4-for-5 with a leadoff homer and five RBI on Tuesday, powering the Rangers to a 15-8 blowout victory over the Athletics.

Advice: Semien set the tone with a leadoff blast -- his sixth round-tripper of the season -- off Athletics starter Ross Stripling before adding a pair of run-scoring hits as part of Texas’ 10-run explosion in the ensuing frame. The 33-year-old ironman has shown zero signs of slowing down as he approaches his mid-30’s, batting .266 (42-for-158) with 27 runs scored, six homers, 27 RBI and one stolen base through 37 contests.
