    • Brett Kennedy booted off roster by Reds
Reds designated RHP Brett Kennedy for assignment.

Advice: Kennedy was only with the Reds for five days, and he’ll be removed from the active and 40-man roster with Alex Young (back) reinstated off the 60-day injured list. If Kennedy goes unclaimed, he has the option to report back to Triple-A or elect free agency. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago
    • Exits 40-man roster
Kennedy was designated for assignment by the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: The transaction frees up a spot on the 26-man and 40-man rosters for the return of Alex Young (back) from the 60-day injured list. Kennedy was with the Reds for a handful of days and didn't make an appearance. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago
    • Stuck on 7-day IL at Triple-A
Triple-A Gwinnett placed Ynoa on its 7-day injured list April 23 with right elbow inflammation, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Ynoa posted a 6.52 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 7:2 K:BB across 9.2 innings in his first three starts with Gwinnett before hitting the shelf. More than a month after being shut down, Ynoa is still without an official timeline for a return. The 26-year-old right-hander held some fantasy utility in 2021 when he turned in a 4.05 ERA while striking out more than a batter per inning over 17 starts with Atlanta, but he hasn't resurfaced at the big-league level since undergoing Tommy John surgery in September 2022. While Ynoa still possesses a spot on Atlanta's 40-man roster, he'll still likely find himself behind several other pitchers in the pecking order for a promotion once he's healthy. • Back from injured list
The Reds activated Young (back) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Young is finally ready for his season debut after recovering from low back disc degeneration. The left-handed reliever allowed just one unearned run over 11 innings on his rehab assignment. Young made 63 appearances out of Cincinnati's bullpen in 2023, posting a 3.86 ERA and 50:20 K:BB in 53.2 frames. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

    • Reds activate Alex Young (back) off 60-day IL
Reds activated LHP Alex Young off the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Young is eligible to come off that 60-day IL Tuesday, and the Reds won’t waste time. The left-hander is back to provide some depth to the pitching staff. Brett Kennedy was designated for assignment to make room for Young on the roster. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

    • Getting another turn in rotation
Spence will start Tuesday's game against the Rays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Spence will make a third consecutive start for the A's after opening the season as a long reliever. Although Spence has lasted 4.2 innings and 3.0 innings across his first two starts, he's yielded three runs and has struck out eight over that stretch. He's thrown 77 and 70 pitches during those two outings, respectively, and shouldn't be a viable fantasy option in most formats. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago

    • Kodai Senga plays catch on field Tuesday
Kodai Senga (shoulder) played catch on the field prior to the doubleheader against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Advice: It’s the first time that Senga has been able to play catch since he was shut down with inflammation in his triceps. The right-hander has been on the 60-day injured list since the start of the season because of shoulder issues, and the expectation now is that Senga won’t be able to return for the Mets — and fantasy players — until around the All-Star break. • Tracking toward return on Friday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Phillips (hamstring) is on track for activation from the 15-day injured list Friday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Advice: Phillips struck out two batters in a perfect inning in his first rehab appearance with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday. He's slated for one rehab outing before rejoining the Dodgers for their weekend series at home against the Rockies, assuming all goes well. Upon activation, Phillips should immediately step back in as the Dodgers' closer. Rotowire.com 37 minutes ago

    • Evan Phillips (hamstring) could return Friday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Evan Phillips (hamstring) has a good chance to return to the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Phillips has looked the part in his rehab appearances as he works his way back from the hamstring injury that has sidelined the stopper since May 5. Once back on the roster, there’s every reason to believe that Phillips will receive the bulk of the save chances for Los Angeles, with Daniel Hudson and the rest of the Los Angeles bullpen serving as a bridge to Phillips.
