    • Jeimer Candelario back in the lineup on Monday
Jeimer Candelario (neck) is back in the lineup on Monday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Candelario missed two games with a neck injury but is back in the lineup at third base and hitting third in the order. The 30-year-old has been turning the corner a bit in May, slashing .257/.313/.432 in 20 games in May with two home runs, 10 RBI, and just a 16.3 percent strikeout rate. He seems like a good bet to go on a hot streak in the coming weeks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:29 am

    • Back in lineup Monday
Candelario (neck) is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: He was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to neck stiffness and held out Sunday as well, but evidently Candelario is feeling better. The 30-year-old will return to third base and bat third against right-hander Lance Lynn. While the rest of the Reds' offense has sunk in May, Candelario has rebounded with an .835 OPS, five doubles and a couple homers in his last 17 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:50 am

    • Still out Sunday
Candelario (neck) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Candelario will miss out on a second straight start due to neck stiffness, but he said he'll be available off the bench for the series finale, per Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer. Santiago Espinal will fill in at third base for Candelario. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:10 am

    • Jeimer Candelario out Sunday with neck issue
Jeimer Candelario (neck) is out Sunday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Candelario was scratched from the lineup Saturday with stiffness in his neck, and he’ll miss at least one more game. Santiago Espinal gets the start in Candelario’s absence. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:08 am

    • Scratched Saturday
Candelario was scratched from the Reds' lineup Saturday due to neck stiffness.

Advice: The Reds haven't provided any information on the severity of Candelario's injury, but it is apparently bothering him enough to hold him out of Saturday's contest. Santiago Espinal will enter the lineup to cover third base while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 3:21 pm

    • Jeimer Candelario scratched due to neck stiffness
Jeimer Candelario was scratched from the Reds’ starting lineup on Saturday due to stiffness in his neck.

Advice: The issue is believed to be minor and the 30-year-old infielder is considered day-to-day. Santiago Espinal will start in his place at the hot corner and will bat ninth for the Reds against Walker Buehler and the Dodgers on Saturday evening in Cincinnati. • Goes yard in Friday's win
Fry went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and two total runs scored in Friday's 10-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Fry has homered five times over his last 13 games, going 14-for-33 (.424) with a 10:6 BB:K in that span. The 28-year-old got a start at catcher versus southpaw Patrick Sandoval in this contest, though manager Stephen Vogt has found room for him in various spots including first base, third base, left field and designated hitter this season. Fry is slashing a stellar .360/.500/.628 with six homers, 19 RBI, 22 runs scored and three stolen bases over 114 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:39 pm

    • David Fry stays hot with homer, two hits vs. LAA
David Fry homered while going 2-for-3 in a blowout win over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Just like we all expected, Fry has been one of the best hitters in the American League this season. You can’t prove we didn’t expect it, anyway. Fry has gone deep six times in his 35 games, and his slash is a borderline unrealistic .360/.500/.628 over that timeframe. Mainly thanks to catcher-eligibility, Fry has to be rostered right now. • Moves to upper half of order
Candelario batted third and went 1-for-4 for with a walk, a triple, an RBI and a caught stealing in Thursday's 6-4 extra-inning loss to the Padres.

Advice: Candelario tripled a run home in the first inning then was thrown out at home on a double-steal attempt to end the frame. He was later removed for a pinch runner in the 10th inning after he had walked. A recent hot stretch prompted a move up the batting order; Candelario has batted third or fourth in four straight contests. Over his last 12 contests, he's slashing .261/.320/.457 with four doubles, a triple, a homer, four runs and seven RBI. Rotowire.com Friday, 4:30 am
