    • Pete Alonso returns to lineup Friday vs. D-backs
Pete Alonso went 1-for-5 with an RBI on Friday against the Diamondbacks in his return to the Mets’ lineup.

Advice: Alonso was able to come off the bench and deliver a pinch-hit double during Thursday’s series opener, less than 24 hours after being diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right hand. The 29-year-old impending free agent was back in New York’s lineup on Friday night and should be good to go moving forward. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:45 am

    • Nabs steal in return
Raley (lat) went 1-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Raley missed a game due to lat soreness, but it appears to be a minor issue. Prior to Friday, Raley went 1-for-19 over his previous seven contests while racking up 10 strikeouts in that span. He's been decent in 2024 with a .260/.297/.397 slash line, four home runs, five stolen bases, 12 RBI and 16 runs scored over 138 plate appearances. Raley is likely to continue working in a strong-side platoon role in left field. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:56 pm

    • Mark Vientos goes 3-for-5 in start
Mark Vientos went 3-for-5 with two RBI in a 10-5 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Vientos received a vote of confidence before this game with Brett Baty being sent down to the minor leagues. That gives Vientos full runway to be the Mets’ starting third baseman for the foreseeable future. He should firmly be on all fantasy radars with a .327/.377/.592 slash line in 49 at-bats this season. • Luke Raley (lat) returns to lineup on Friday
Luke Raley (lat) returned to the Mariners’ starting lineup on Friday night.

Advice: The 29-year-old slugger sat out Thursday’s contest due to lat soreness, but it appears to have been only a minor issue. Raley will start in left field and bat eighth against Angels’ right-hander Jose Soriano on Friday evening in Seattle. On the season, he’s slashing .260/.299/.394 with four homers, 12 RBI and four stolen bases in 134 plate appearances across 45 ballgames. Rotoworld Friday, 2:55 pm

    • Returns to lineup Friday
Raley (lat) is starting in left field and batting eighth Friday against the Angels.

Advice: Lat soreness prevented Raley from starting during Thursday's loss to the Astros, but the issue appears to have subsided prior to Friday's contest. The 29-year-old outfielder is slashing .292/.346/.486 since the beginning of May, but he has been in a slump recently, tallying just one hit in 19 at-bats while striking out 10 times in his last seven games. • Back in action Friday
Alonso (hand) is playing first and batting second during Friday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Alonso was hit by a pitch Wednesday, but after a clean CT scan and a day off Thursday, the first baseman will rejoin the Mets' starting nine. Alonso owns a .771 OPS and has the third most homers among first basemen this season with 12. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:05 pm

    • Looks like everyday third baseman
Vientos is expected to serve as the Mets' everyday third baseman after the club optioned Brett Baty to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Advice: Baty had started at third base in four of the Mets' previous five matchups versus right-handed pitchers, but the 24-year-old was unable to break out of his extended slump at the plate. He ends his time on the Mets' 26-man active roster having hit just .132 over his last 15 games, leaving Vientos as the big club's top option at the hot corner against both right- and left-handed pitching. Though he's an inferior defender compared to Baty, Vientos has been the far more effective hitter of the two at the big-league level this season, posting a .945 OPS over 48 plate appearances for the Mets. With Baty at least temporarily removed from the mix and a path to regular at-bats having been cleared up, Vientos makes for a worthy pickup for fantasy managers seeking an infusion of power. • Homers in return
Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Twins.

Advice: Pasquantino missed Wednesday's game due to a shin injury, but his absence wasn't a long one. He served as the designated hitter Thursday, but it shouldn't be long before he's back at first base. The 26-year-old's homer was his first since May 9, which was also the date of his previous multi-hit effort. Pasquantino is slashing just .229/.309/.404 with six homers, 35 RBI, 26 runs scored, 13 doubles and a triple over 220 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:44 pm
    • Pasquantino homers Thursday in return to lineup
Vinnie Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run on Thursday against the Twins.

Advice: Pasquantino went deep for the sixth time this season following a one-game absence recovering from a left leg injury that he suffered earlier this week. He’s hitting just .229 with a .234 BABIP this year. Pasquantino’s career BABIP is .267 and with better luck on balls in play we should expect him to hit at least .260 over the course of the rest of the season. Even with his poor average and only six home runs, he’s been able to drive in runs as he’s now up to 35 RBI on the year. Rotoworld Thursday, 1:14 pm
