    • Brilliant in no-decision
Jones did not factor into the decision in Saturday's win against the Rockies. He allowed one hit and no walks while striking out 10 over seven scoreless innings.

Advice: The 22-year-old right-hander bounced back from a rather modest showing his last time out, matching his career high with 10 strikeouts. Jones got 17 swings and misses on 96 pitches and touched 100 mph with his heater a couple times. While he has a losing record at 2-3, Jones is off to a historically great start to his career. He became the first pitcher in Pirates history with an outing consisting of seven shutout innings, one hit or fewer allowed, 10 strikeouts and zero walks Saturday, and per MLB's Sarah Langs, Jones is the first pitcher since at least 1901 with 50-plus strikeouts and five or fewer walks in his first seven career starts. • Adley Rutschman posts three hits, homers in win
Adley Rutschman went 3-for-4 with a solo homer on Saturday, leading the Orioles to a 2-1 victory over the Reds.

Advice: Rutschman spearheaded Baltimore’s offense in a rare low-scoring showdown at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park with his third three-hit effort of the season. He connected for a solo homer to left-center field -- his fifth round-tripper of the season -- off Reds southpaw Andrew Abbott in the fifth inning, which wound up being the difference in the contest. The 26-year-old franchise cornerstone has gone deep three times in his last eight contests since April 27. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:39 pm
    • Removed with wrist injury Saturday
Ruiz suffered a wrist injury on a diving catch in the sixth inning of Saturday's win over the Marlins and was removed from the game, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Ruiz appeared to hurt his glove hand and remained down for a brief time following the catch, cradling his left wrist as he exited the field with team trainers. Seth Brown replaced him in left field, and Ruiz could well be headed for a day off in Sunday's series finale, at minimum. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:31 pm

    • Leads O's with three hits, homer
Rutschman went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Rutschman connected against left-hander Andrew Abbott in the fifth inning for his fifth homer of 2024, and it proved to be the winning run. With extra-base hits in each of his last three games, Rutschman is up to a .321/.361/.470 line through 32 games this season. He's been a bit overshadowed by Gunnar Henderson so far, but Rutschman is producing at a high level from the catcher and DH spots. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:05 pm
    • Esteury Ruiz leaves game with left wrist injury
Esteury Ruiz was removed from Saturday night’s lopsided victory over the Marlins with a left wrist injury.

Advice: The 25-year-old speedster suffered the injury while making a tremendous diving catch in left field. Fortunately, it appears to be only a minor issue and the A’s are considering him day-to-day. Ruiz had been 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI prior to departing. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:59 pm

    • Jared Jones strikes out ten over seven scoreless
Jared Jones tossed seven shutout innings with ten strikeouts in a no-decision against the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: There were some concerns over Jones’ velocity his last time out. He looked just fine on Saturday, shutting down the Rockies over seven innings. He was back up to 97.6 mph on the fastball, generating 17 whiffs to strike out ten batters. Jones allowed just one baserunner on the day, a double by Elias Díaz in the fifth inning. The 22-year-old right-hander will take an outstanding 2.63 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, and a 52/5 K/BB ratio across 41 innings into a start against the Cubs in Pittsburgh on Friday. • Carlos Correa plates two as Twins defeat Red Sox
Carlos Correa went 0-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs on Saturday as the Twins triumphed over the Red Sox.

Advice: Correa drove in the Twins’ first run in the opening inning with an RBI ground out off of Brennan Bernadino. He then added a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning that extended their lead to 3-1. On the season, the 29-year-old shortstop is now hitting .255/.364/.345 with a homer and seven RBI through his first 16 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:52 pm

    • Lands on concussion IL
The Giants placed Bailey on the 7-day concussion injured list Saturday.

Advice: Bailey left Friday's game against the Phillies after he was struck in the mask by a foul tip off the bat in the first inning. Tom Murphy is slated to take over as the primary catcher in Bailey's absence, while Blake Sabol was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday to provide backstop depth. • Giants place Patrick Bailey on 7-day concussion IL
Giants placed C Patrick Bailey on the 7-day concussion injured list.

Advice: Bailey left Friday’s game with blurred vision. The backstop will now be out of commission until he can clear the concussion protocols. The 24-year-old is replaced on the active roster by Blake Sabol. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:19 pm
