• Joe hits seventh home run Friday
Connor Joe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The home run was Joe’s seventh of the year. He’s up to .270 with a .792 OPS on the season. While he’s seen regular playing time this year, he’s certainly proven to be better against left-handed pitching once again. Joe has a .288/.356/.500 line in 90 plate appearances against southpaws this season. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago

  • Battling finger soreness
Weathers was removed from Friday's game against the Guardians due to left index finger soreness, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.

Advice: Weathers was only able to get through 2.1 innings before being pulled, during which he allowed two earned runs on four hits while striking out three batters and walking none. The Marlins haven't provided any information regarding the severity of his injury, but they'll likely keep an eye on his finger as he approaches his next scheduled start -- tentatively scheduled for Thursday against the Mets. • Set to undergo UCL surgery
Manager John Schneider said Friday that Manoah will undergo UCL surgery June 17, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Manoah left in the second inning of his last start May 29 against the White Sox, and he was placed on the injured list two days later with what was diagnosed as a right UCL sprain. Manoah began the season on the IL with right shoulder inflammation, and since returning May 5, he's posted a 1-2 record with a 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB over 24.1 innings. It's not clear whether Manoah will need Tommy John surgery or a brace repair, but the procedure will end the 26-year-old right-hander's 2024 season. Rotowire.com Today, 5:02 pm

  • Manoah to miss remainder of 2024 after UCL surgery
Alek Manoah will miss the rest of the 2024 season after undergoing surgery to repair his right UCL on June 17.

Advice: Manoah left his last outing with left elbow discomfort, and the 26-year-old will need to miss the remainder of 2024 after undergoing the procedure. It’s yet another setback for a right-hander who was among the best young hurlers in baseball in 2022, and now has many more questions than answers regarding his future in the sport.
