• Parker goes seven innings in no-decison Thursday
Mitchell Parker allowed two runs in seven innings and got a no-decision against the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: Parker gave up three hits, walked none and struck out two. He had a 2-0 lead in the seventh inning, but Adam Duvall got him for a game-tying two-run home run. Parker’s ERA is 3.47 in 10 starts this year, though he’s won just one of his last eight starts. The 24-year-old left-hander is set to face the Tigers on the road next week.

  • Stanek pitches scoreless ninth to get save vs. A’s
Ryne Stanek didn’t allow a hit while picking up a save Thursday against the Athletics.

Advice: Stanek got the save chance with Andres Munoz (back) unavailable Thursday. The right-hander didn’t pick up a strikeout, but he was able to lower his ERA to 3.52 while procuring his fourth save of the season. If Munoz can’t go over the weekend against the Royals, Stanek could get more chances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:14 pm
  • Sears strikes out eight in loss to Mariners
JP Sears gave up two runs in six innings with eight strikeouts in a loss Thursday to the Mariners.

Advice: Sears was solid, but unfortunately got a goose egg in terms of run support while on the mound. He allowed a sacrifice fly to Dylan Moore with the bases loaded in the third and an RBI single to Mitch Garver an inning later. The eight strikeouts match a season high for the 28-year-old, and he’ll take a 3.93 ERA into his next start scheduled for Tuesday against San Diego. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:14 pm

  • Jalen Beeks melts down in ugly blown save vs. Reds
Jalen Beeks was charged with five runs in the ninth inning on Wednesday in a blown save against the Reds.

Advice: Beeks was called upon to protect a narrow one-run lead on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field and wound up recording a pair of outs before serving up a go-ahead two-run homer to Spencer Steer. He was lifted from the contest after loading the bases and was charged with all three additional runs when rookie Angel Chivilli coughed up a grand slam to Jonathan India. Not great. Unfortunately for the Rockies, they don’t have a ton of alternatives at the moment in the ninth inning besides occasionally turning to Tyler Kinley. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:28 pm
  • Drawing another start
Cecconi is slated to start Thursday's game against the Padres at Petco Park, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: While entering the rotation last Saturday as a replacement for Zac Gallen (hamstring), Cecconi took a no-decision in the Diamondbacks' 10-5 win over the Mets while striking out four over 4.2 innings of one-run ball. The performance was good enough to earn Cecconi at least one more turn through the rotation while the Diamondbacks wait for one of Gallen, Merrill Kelly (shoulder) or Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) to return from the injured list. • Remains in rotation
Vasquez is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks at Petco Park, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Neither Yu Darvish (groin) nor Joe Musgrove (elbow) is eligible to return from the 15-day injured list until next weekend, so Vasquez will unsurprisingly stick around in the San Diego rotation for another turn. After being called up from Triple-A El Paso, Vasquez started in last Saturday's win over the Royals, giving up three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out five in five innings. He maintains a 5.74 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over 26.2 innings in six starts for the big club on the season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:48 pm
  • Returns to majors
The Brewers recalled Myers from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Advice: Myers should be available out of the bullpen beginning with Wednesday's game against the Phillies, but he might be needed to make some starts while the Brewers are without multiple rotation members. The rookie right-hander holds a 5.40 ERA and 27:10 K:BB over 26.2 innings for Milwaukee, covering six starts and one relief appearance. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:29 am

  • Brewers recall Tobias Myers from Triple-A
Brewers recalled RHP Tobias Myers from Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Myers has a 5.40 ERA in six starts and one relief appearance for the Brewers this season. He’ll be available to go long in relief if Aaron Ashby struggles today. Depending on what happens there, he could stick around and make a start next week. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:11 am

  • Takes first loss
Long (0-1) allowed two unearned runs on one hit and one walk while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Tuesday versus the Guardians.

Advice: Long put two runners on base before giving way to Angel Zerpa in the seventh inning. A Bobby Witt error would allow three runs to score, including the two on Long's line that sent him to the loss. He still hasn't given up an earned run over 5.1 innings this season, and he's generally pitched well with a 5:1 K:BB in a low-leverage role since he was brought up to the majors May 20. Long has previous experience as a starter, but none of his six big-league appearances this year have exceeded one inning. He went longer than an inning in eight of his 15 outings for Triple-A Omaha prior to his call-up, so he could still be called on to provide length out of the bullpen. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:06 am
