    • Josh Jung (wrist) getting close to rehab games
Josh Jung (wrist) will take at-bats in a live batting practice session on Wednesday.

Advice: The hope is that Jung will be ready to get into minor league rehab contests at some point in the near future after progressing to taking batting practice last weekend. The 26-year-old slugger has been brought along slowly since early-April surgery on his right wrist, but should return before the end of the month. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:27 pm

    • On bench against lefty
Smith is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Smith has a .912 OPS through eight games in June but will take a seat Tuesday with southpaw James Paxton on the mound for Los Angeles. Davis Wendzel will receive a start at the hot corner and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 4:04 pm

    • Josh Jung (wrist) resumes taking batting practice
Josh Jung (wrist) has progressed to taking batting practice.

Advice: Jung was cleared to resume swinging a bat back in late May, so it’s a positive sign he’s taking regular batting practice again. The 26-year-old has been brought along slowly in his rehabilitation from early-April surgery on his right wrist. The hope is that he’ll be ready to return at some point in late June or early July. There is no official timetable at this juncture, but he should be getting close to starting a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:55 am

    • Stuffs stat sheet Wednesday
Smith went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, two total RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 9-1 victory against the Tigers.

Advice: Smith gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead with his solo shot to right field in the third inning and added an RBI single in the sixth. For good measure, the third baseman sweetened his stat line with a stolen base following a first-inning walk. Smith continues to shine at the hot corner for Texas, getting at least one hit in eight of his past nine games and batting .361 (13-for-36) with two homers, three doubles, four RBI, seven runs and two steals over that span. • Josh Smith homers, steals base in victory
Josh Smith went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, two RBI, a stolen base, and a walk in the Rangers’ 9-1 win over the Tigers on Wednesday.

Advice: Smith filled the stat sheet on Wednesday with an excellent day at the plate. He drew a walk in the first inning and stole second. Smith then led off the third with a solo homer off Joey Wentz. He doubled in the fifth and later drove in a run with a base hit in the sixth. The 26-year-old infielder is having a solid season at the plate, hitting .290/.377/.440 with four homers, 30 runs scored, 24 RBI, and four steals across 220 plate appearances. • Clutch homer Tuesday
Bohm went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Brewers in 10 innings.

Advice: Bohm got the Phillies on the board in the eighth inning, leading off the frame with a 420-foot blast off Elvis Peguero to tie the game, 1-1. It's the first homer since May 19 for Bohm -- he's gone just 11-for-57 (.193) since then following a red-hot start to the season. Overall, the 27-year-old third baseman is slashing .296/.350/.481 with six homers, 50 RBI, 29 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases across 61 games this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:07 am

    • Keeps surging Tuesday
Gorman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Gorman has upped the power over the last week with six homers and 10 RBI over his last seven contests. That's still come with a swing-and-miss risk, as he's struck out 10 times in that span, but that's of little concern when he's making the most of whatever contact he gets. The second baseman is up to 14 homers, 31 RBI, 28 runs scored, two stolen bases, eight doubles and a .235/.320/.508 slash line through 206 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:10 pm
