Witt went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 10-1 win over Colorado.

Advice: Witt clubbed his 15th home run of the season, taking Ty Blach yard for a three-run homer in the ninth inning. The 24-year-old shortstop was named an AL All-Star reserve and has shown exactly why he's deserving of the honor lately, batting 12-for-23 with three homers and nine runs scored across his last seven games Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago
    • Fans five in no-decision
Birdsong did not factor in the decision during Sunday's loss to Cleveland. He allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while recording five strikeouts.

Advice: Birdsong kept the Guardians quiet until he coughed up a pair of runs in the fourth inning. He's recorded exactly five punchouts in each of his first three big-league starts and has yet to go deeper than five innings. Birdsong generated 13 swinging strikes, including five with his slider. He'll carry a 4.40 ERA into his next start, which is projected to be at home against the Twins. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:47 pm
    • Picks up seventh steal
Burleson went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Burleson has picked up multiple hits in three of his last six games. He's also stolen two bases in his last three games and five over his last 15. The 25-year-old's impressive first half has been a key factor in the Cardinals turnaround as he's settled into the second spot in the lineup. Burleson is hitting .281/.318/.455 with 13 home runs and 42 RBI over 82 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:37 pm

    • Tallies four hits in win
Langford went 4-for-5 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 13-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: This was Langford's second four-hit game over his last seven contests after he hit for the cycle last Sunday. The outfielder is 12-for-26 (.462) in that span, and he's also added a 4:6 BB:K. It's taken him some time, but it appears he's found some consistency at the plate midway through his rookie year. Langford is slashing .270/.337/.398 with four home runs, 37 RBI, 28 runs scored, 11 doubles, four triples and seven stolen bases over 66 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:22 pm

    • Remains in rotation
Baz is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Yankees at Tropicana Field.

Advice: Baz will make a second straight turn through the Tampa Bay rotation as he continues to fill the spot that belonged to Aaron Civale, who was traded to the Brewers last week. After being called up from Triple-A Durham on Friday to make his first start for the Rays since July 10, 2022, Baz struck out six while allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings in a loss to the Rangers. Though he maintains a hold on a rotation spot for now, Baz could still be at some risk of losing out on a starting role once Jeffrey Springs (elbow) eventually returns from the 60-day injured list. • Bobby Witt Jr. headlines A.L. All-Star reserves
Bobby Witt Jr. was named to his first American League All-Star team on Sunday.

Advice: It’s the first of what should be many All-Star nominations for the 24-year-old superstar shortstop. Witt has been outstanding this season, slashing .324/.372/.564 with 15 homers, 61 RBI, 72 runs scored and 22 stolen bases. He’ll be joined on the American League squad by fellow reserves Salvador Perez, Carlos Correa, Rafael Devers, Marcus Semien, Kyle Tucker, Josh Naylor, Isaac Paredes, Jarren Duran, Riley Greene and David Fry. • Paul Skenes headlines pitchers for N.L. All-Stars
Pirates’ rookie right-hander Paul Skenes was named to his first National League All-Star team on Sunday, despite having logged just 59 1/3 innings at the big-league level.

Advice: It’s the first of what should be many All-Star game nods for the studly 22-year-old hurler who has gone 5-0 with a 2.12 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and a 78/12 K/BB ratio through his first 10 MLB starts. He’ll be joined on the N.L. All-Star squad by fellow pitchers Ranger Suarez, Tyler Glasnow, Shota Imanaga, Reynaldo Lopez, Logan Webb, Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, Ryan Helsley, Tanner Scott, Robert Suarez, Matt Strahm and Jeff Hoffman. • Bobby Witt Jr. goes 3-for-5, hits three-run homer
Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer as the Royals crushed the Rockies 10-1 on Sunday.

Advice: Witt slumped just a bit over the second half of June, but he’s now collected 15 hits, including three homers, in his last seven games, pushing his OPS back up to .936. He’s second in the majors with a .324 average and tied for second with 72 runs scored. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:46 pm
    • Birdsong can’t escape 5th inning in no decision
Hayden Birdsong allowed two runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Guardians.

Advice: He struck out five and walked two on the day. Birdsong induced 13 whiffs on 44 swings for a 30 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. The four-seamer was unable to get many whiffs and allowed a fair amount of hard contact, which put a good deal of stress on his off-speed pitches on Sunday. Still, he looked good apart from a tough start to the fourth inning and then an infield single and two-out walk which ended his day in the fifth inning. The rookie has been inconsistent so far in his MLB career and is a risky streamer next week against the Twins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:43 pm
