    • Homers in consecutive games
Schmitt went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: With Marco Luciano (hamstring) landing on the injured list Friday, Schmitt has a chance to make shortstop his own in June. This was Schmitt's second game in a row in the lineup -- he started versus right-hander Cody Poteet on Saturday and stayed in the starting nine versus southpaw Nestor Cortes on Sunday. Through eight games this season, Schmitt has two homers, five RBI and two runs scored over 30 plate appearances. Brett Wisely has also been an option at shortstop lately, and both Schmitt and Wisely offer utility upside if the Giants opt to get creative with their lineup decisions. • Delivers key hits Sunday
Gorman went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a walk in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Phillies.

Advice: Gorman opened the scoring with a two-run blast in the first inning and also provided the Cardinals with their winning run by adding an RBI single in the 10th. This was his fourth multi-hit effort over the last nine games, a span in which he's gone 11-for-32 (.344) with four homers and 10 RBI. He's up to a .223/.310/.457 slash line, 11 long balls, 28 RBI, 25 runs scored and two stolen bases through 51 contests. Gorman has been a near-everyday player lately, though the Cardinals called up Jose Fermin on Friday for infield depth, which could lead to Gorman sitting out against some southpaws moving forward. • Nolan Gorman homers, plates three to lead Cards
Nolan Gorman went 2-for-4, homered and drove in three runs on Sunday night as the Cardinals triumphed over the Phillies 5-4 in 10 innings.

Advice: Gorman got the scoring started with a bang, crushing a 367-foot (108.6 mph EV) two-out, two-run shot off of Phillies’ right-hander Taijuan Walker in the opening frame. He then smacked a two-out go-ahead RBI single off of Gregory Soto to give the Cardinals the lead in the 10th inning. Gorman also walked and struck out twice in the ballgame, finishing the evening 1-for-4. On the season, he’s now slashing .223/.310/.457 with 11 long balls and 28 RBI. • Shut down at Triple-A
Triple-A Charlotte placed Shewmake on its 7-day injured list Sunday due to an unspecified injury.

Advice: After receiving limited playing time with the White Sox, Shewmake was optioned to Charlotte on May 17 and had settled into an everyday role with the Triple-A club. However, he went just 4-for-33 (.121 average) at the dish over nine games with Charlotte before suffering an apparent injury Saturday and landing on the IL a day later. • Homers, doubles in game-winner
Miranda went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Astros.

Advice: Miranda collected his 10th multi-hit game of the season, homering in the sixth to knot the game at three, then adding a go-ahead RBI double in the eighth that served as the game-winner for the Twins. After struggling to a .211 average in 40 games last season, Miranda has fared much better this season, posting a slash line of .280/.311/.469 with six homers, nine doubles, 20 RBI and 19 runs through 151 plate appearances. • Josh Smith has two hits in win over Marlins
Josh Smith went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in a win over the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: Smith hasn’t gotten enough credit for the job he’s done since Josh Jung went down. The 26-year-old is hitting .287/.377/.425 with 28 runs scored, 22 RBI, three home runs, and three steals in 57 games. He’s not setting the world on fire, but he has been a really solid regular which has given him value in deeper fantasy formats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:37 pm

    • Not in Sunday's lineup
Sosa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Sosa started the past 10 games at shortstop and posted a 1.026 OPS during that span, but he'll take a seat for Sunday's contest. Bryson Stott will shift to shortstop while Kody Clemens receives a start at the keystone. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:22 pm

    • Jose Miranda homers, knocks in two to lead Twins
Jose Miranda had a solo homer and an RBI double in helping the Twins edge the Astros 4-3 on Sunday.

Advice: If there was any chance of Miranda being the countermove for Royce Lewis on Tuesday, it vanished today. He was probably sticking around anyway, even though Lewis is going to supplant him at third base. That’ll turn Miranda into more of a DH and first baseman. Miranda is batting an impressive .280/.311/.469 in 151 plate appearances, though Statcast thinks he’s been pretty fortunate to sport that line. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:21 pm
    • Ildemaro Vargas with two hits, stolen base
Ildemaro Vargas went 2-for-3 scoring a run, driving one in, and stealing a base Sunday in a win over the Guardians.

Advice: Vargas drew his second straight spot-start after CJ Abrams tweaked his shoulder on Friday and had a great all-around game. It’s unlikely his role grows unless Abrams needs a spell on the IL. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:09 pm
