    • Slow start to June
Holliday is hitting .182 with one home run, one steal, 12 walks and 12 strikeouts in 10 June games for Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday is slashing .238/.407/.415 with five home runs, four steals, a 22.2 percent walk rate and a 24.3 percent strikeout rate in 40 games since being optioned to Triple-A on April 26. The Orioles could summon the 20-year-old middle infielder at any point, but his return to the big leagues in the coming weeks is more of a possibility than an inevitability. Due to the fact Holliday spent 16 days on the active roster in April, Baltimore would need to keep him in the minors until Sept. 1 while limiting him to 130 or fewer total at-bats in order to preserve his rookie eligibility heading into 2025. • Starting rehab assignment
Drury (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Drury went down with a hamstring injury May 8 and was placed on the 10-day injured list a day later. The second baseman hasn't faced any setbacks with his recovery to this point and is now ready to test himself in a game setting for the first time in over a month. Expect Drury to appear in at least a couple of games with Salt Lake before the Angels decide whether he's fit to return from the IL. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:35 pm

    • Brandon Drury starts rehab assignment on Tuesday
Brandon Drury (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Salt Lake.

Advice: Drury has been on the shelf since early May due to a left hamstring strain so it’s a positive sign that he’s ready to return to game action. He should be back in Los Angeles at some point later this week. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:30 pm

    • Taking on-field BP
Edman (wrist) will take batting practice on the field at Busch Stadium on Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: The switch-hitting Edman was recently cleared to hit from both sides of the plate and will now progress to taking on-field BP for the first time since last October's right wrist surgery. Edman's progress from the operation has been slow and involved numerous starts and stops, but he's been trending in a positive direction for the last few weeks and he might not be far off from a rehab assignment. • Tommy Edman (wrist) takes on-field batting practice
Tommy Edman (wrist) progressed to taking on-field batting practice on Tuesday for the first time since offseason wrist surgery.

Advice: The big question for fantasy managers is when will Edman be ready for a minor league rehab assignment? The 29-year-old switch-hitting center fielder has progressed to hitting from both sides of the plate and doesn’t appear far off from getting into minor league contests. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:30 pm

    • Pops sixth homer
Crawford went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in an extra-inning win over the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Crawford got the Mariners off on the right foot with his leadoff solo shot, his second in as many games. The veteran shortstop extended his hitting streak to six games in the process, making it arguably his best offensive stretch of a season that now sees him carrying a .226/.308/.396 slash line through 42 games. • Hits leadoff homer
Crawford went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's loss to the Royals.

Advice: The shortstop got the scoring started on the first pitch of the game with his 11th career leadoff homer. He later added another RBI on a single in the fifth, giving him his third multi-RBI game of the season. Crawford now has five home runs this season and three since coming off the IL on May 20. The 29-year-old is working on a five-game hitting streak, which is tied for his longest of the season. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:06 pm

    • J.P. Crawford hits leadoff homer in loss to KC
J.P. Crawford homered and drove in two runs in a loss Saturday to the Royals.

Advice: Crawford didn’t waste any time by homering on the first pitch from Alec Marsh to give Seattle a 1-0 lead. The shortstop also drove in a run with a single in the third to again give the Mariners a lead at 3-2. After a horrible start to the year and missing time with an oblique injury, Crawford is looking more like the breakout hitter of 2023 than his .220/.306/.377 slash might suggest. • Slated for rehab stint next week
Drury (hamstring) has responded well to recent baseball activities and is likely to head out on a rehab assignment during the week of June 10, per MLB.com.

Advice: Drury hasn't played since injuring his left hamstring May 8, but he recently progressed to running and participating in full baseball activities, including taking groundballs and hitting on the field. The veteran infielder hasn't had any setbacks while taking part in that work and thus appears just about ready to head out on a rehab stint. It's unclear how many minor-league games Drury will play in, but it appears he could be back with the Angels by the end of next week. Rotowire.com Saturday, 12:20 pm
