• Return date uncertain
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Muncy is still feeling his oblique strain and will proceed cautiously, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Roberts had previously indicated that Muncy could start a rehab assignment soon with a potential return to the Dodgers coming next week, though he backed off on that statement Friday. The third baseman began doing some work in the field Tuesday, but Roberts indicated that Muncy won't progress to hitting off a tee until the team feels he's fully recovered. With that in mind, it seems unlikely that Muncy will be ready to return to the big club until at least early June. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

  • Ronald Acuña Jr. diagnosed with torn ACL
The Braves announced that Ronald Acuña Jr. was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

Advice: Just an absolutely brutal blow for the Braves and for fantasy managers. The 26-year-old outfielder had been hopeful that he would only need to miss a month’s worth of action, but his MRI exam on Sunday revealed the extensive damage. Expect Braves’ general manager Alex Anthopoulos to hit the trade market to bring in another option to bolster the Braves’ outfield in the wake of this miserable news. Rotoworld Today, 8:05 pm

  • Ruled out for season
Acuna has been diagnosed with a complete tear of the ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

Advice: Acuna suffered a non-contact injury while trying to retreat to second base in the top of the first inning during Sunday's game against the Pirates. He missed the second half of the 2021 season due to a torn ACL in his right knee and now faces another lengthy recovery process. Over 48 games in 2024, Acuna slashed .246/.348/.356 with four homers, 38 runs, 16 steals and 15 RBI. Acuna will undergo surgery at an undisclosed date to address his ACL tear, while Jarred Kelenic and Adam Duvall could see additional playing time as the season progresses. • Smacks first homer
Wisely went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Mets.

Advice: Wisely has strung together three multi-hit efforts, going 7-for-11 in that span. The homer was his first extra-base hit of the campaign. That hot stretch has allowed Wisely to mount a challenge for playing time at shortstop, which has come at the expense of Marco Luciano. It's a battle the Giants will likely hope for Luciano to win in the long run, as Wisely is best suited to a bench role given his defensive versatility. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 pm

  • Optioned to Triple-A
Loperfido was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land after Sunday's 5-2 win over the Athletics, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Advice: Loperfido will head back to Sugar Land after being called up April 30, producing a .333 average with one home run, five RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base over 39 at-bats in 14 contests with Houston. Veteran first baseman Jose Abreu is set to be called up Monday, replacing the 25-year-old on the major-league roster with the Astros. Considering how well he played in limited action in the big leagues, Loperfido will likely be back with Houston relatively soon. Rotowire.com Today, 6:51 pm

  • Launches eighth homer
Abrams went 1-for-4 with a three run home run in Sunday's 9-5 loss to Seattle.

Advice: Abrams broke out of a minor slump Sunday, slugging his first home run since April 29 and recording his first RBI since May 18. He has cooled off significantly in the month of May, slashing .209/.225/.256 with four RBI and eight runs scored. Despite the recent struggles, the 23-year-old has still had a productive season, batting .257 with eight home runs, 21 RBI, 30 runs scored and eight stolen bases. Rotowire.com Today, 6:38 pm

  • Does it all Sunday
Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Sunday's 9-5 win against Washington.

Advice: Rodriguez did it all in this one, establishing a season-best with four RBI and recording a steal for the first time since May 8. The 23-year-old has largely been a disappointment this season, but performances such as this are a reminder of his incredible versatility. With home runs in consecutive games, Rodriguez might finally be heating up for fantasy managers. Rotowire.com Today, 6:21 pm
  • Drives in three
Bader went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI on Sunday against the Giants.

Advice: Bader tied the score twice, first in the second inning with an RBI single, then more importantly in the ninth inning when his double plated two to tie the game and helped set up the come-from-behind win for the struggling Mets. Through 45 games, Bader is now slashing .279/.329/.361 with two homers, six doubles, 16 RBI, 17 runs and eight steals over 155 plate appearances in his first season in Queens. This was Bader's first multi-hit game since May 19. Rotowire.com Today, 5:59 pm

  • Could miss four-plus weeks
Acuna (knee) said Sunday that he wouldn't be surprised if he misses a month, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Acuna told reporters he was going on the 10-day injured list and said the discomfort is more like what he felt in 2018 than what he dealt with in 2021 when he tore his ACL. Acuna had a significant limp as he was moving around the clubhouse after Sunday's game, in which he collapsed in the top of the first inning when trying to go back to second base and needed assistance getting down the dugout stairs. He said he did not hear a pop, but Monday's MRI results still loom large. In Acuna's absence, Jarred Kelenic and Adam Duvall could play more against same-handed pitchers. Rotowire.com Today, 5:28 pm
