    Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Muncy is still feeling his oblique strain and will proceed cautiously, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

    Advice: Roberts had previously indicated that Muncy could start a rehab assignment soon with a potential return to the Dodgers coming next week, though he backed off on that statement Friday. The third baseman began doing some work in the field Tuesday, but Roberts indicated that Muncy won't progress to hitting off a tee until the team feels he's fully recovered.   • Ronald Acuña Jr. diagnosed with torn ACL
    The Braves announced that Ronald Acuña Jr. was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

    Advice: Just an absolutely brutal blow for the Braves and for fantasy managers. The 26-year-old outfielder had been hopeful that he would only need to miss a month’s worth of action, but his MRI exam on Sunday revealed the extensive damage.     Advice: Acuna suffered a non-contact injury while trying to retreat to second base in the top of the first inning during Sunday's game against the Pirates. He missed the second half of the 2021 season due to a torn ACL in his right knee and now faces another lengthy recovery process. Over 48 games in 2024, Acuna slashed .246/.348/.356 with four homers, 38 runs, 16 steals and 15 RBI. Acuna will undergo surgery at an undisclosed date to address his ACL tear, while Jarred Kelenic and Adam Duvall could see additional playing time as the season progresses.     Advice: Loperfido will head back to Sugar Land after being called up April 30, producing a .333 average with one home run, five RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base over 39 at-bats in 14 contests with Houston. Veteran first baseman Jose Abreu is set to be called up Monday, replacing the 25-year-old on the major-league roster with the Astros. Acuna had a significant limp as he was moving around the clubhouse after Sunday's game, in which he collapsed in the top of the first inning when trying to go back to second base and needed assistance getting down the dugout stairs.
