• Likely to get start Wednesday
Bido will be recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas and is likely to start one of the games during Wednesday's doubleheader against the Rangers, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bido has been really good this season with Vegas in a difficult pitching environment, posting a 2.59 ERA and 39:13 K:BB across 31.1 innings of work. The 28-year-old didn't have as much luck during his time with the Pirates last season with a 5.86 ERA in 50.2 frames, and his minor-league track record is hit-or-miss. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

  • Strikes out 13 in rehab start
Garrett (shoulder) struck out 13 batters and allowed one hit and one walk over 5.2 scoreless innings in his rehab start Monday for the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate.

Advice: Though he was facing off against a lineup consisting mostly of teenage hitters, Garrett was dominant nonetheless in what was likely his fifth and final minor-league rehab start. Garrett, who has been on the 15-day injured list all season while recovering from a left shoulder impingement, will likely be activated this weekend to start Saturday or Sunday versus the Phillies for what will be his 2024 debut with the Marlins. • Ready for rehab assignment
Bubic (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with the Royals' Arizona Complex League affiliate on Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bubic is working his way back from last April's Tommy John surgery and is finally ready to pitch in games again. It's possible he could be ready to rejoin the big club in early June after his 30-day rehab window expires, but Bubic does have options left so the Royals could keep him in the minors indefinitely if he doesn't look ready. • Starts up rehab assignment
Puk (shoulder) made the second appearance of his rehab assignment with the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Monday, striking out two over a scoreless inning.

Advice: Puk has turned in identical two-strikeout perfect innings in the FCL since he started up his rehab assignment Friday. The left-hander broke camp as a member of the Miami rotation, but after turning in a 9.22 ERA and 2.63 WHIP over his four starts before landing on the injured list April 20 with shoulder fatigue, he'll work out of the bullpen once the Marlins activate him. Puk could settle into a high-leverage role in front of closer Tanner Scott right away upon his return to the big club. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

  • Outrighted to Triple-A
Gutierrez cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Francys Romero of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gutierrez had the ability to decline the outright assignment and elect free agency, but he decided not to do so and will remain in the organization. The right-hander figures to join Worcester's rotation. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago
  • Next outing will be at Triple-A
Pirates manager Derek Shelton said Monday that Skenes is scheduled to make another start with Triple-A Indianapolis this week, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Skenes' last start with Indianapolis was his first this season on regular rest, and he wasn't as dominant as he had been, yielding two runs on three hits and a 4:2 K:BB over 4.1 innings. He threw 66 pitches in the outing. The top prospect's major-league debut should be coming sooner rather than later, but the Pirates have opted to give him at least one more start in the minors. Skenes boasts a 0.99 ERA and 45:8 K:BB across 27.1 frames in 2024. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

  • Giovanny Gallegos (shoulder) placed on 15-day IL
Cardinals placed RHP Giovanny Gallegos on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.

Advice: Gallegos failed to record an out while surrendering three earned runs on three hits in his last appearance, and it appears the shoulder played a factor in that struggle. He’ll miss the next two weeks at least, but it could be a longer stay based on what usually happens with shoulder injuries. Chris Raycroft is up to take Gallegos’ place on the roster. • Dominic Leone placed on IL with back injury
White Sox placed RHP Dominic Leone on the 15-day injured list with back tightness.

Advice: Leone has struggled in his 14 appearances with the White Sox as seen in a 6.75 ERA, and he’ll now miss at least two weeks with the back injury. Mike Clevinger is taking his roster spot after being called up from Triple-A Charlotte. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

  • White Sox recall Mike Clevinger for start Monday
White Sox recalled RHP Mike Clevinger from Triple-A Charlotte.

Advice: Clevinger will make the start for the White Sox on Monday against the Rays. The right-hander was only able to work 7 1/3 innings in his first two starts, and he may not be able to get deep enough to qualify for a a victory during his first time on the mound. Dominic Leone was placed on the 15-day injured list in the corresponding transaction. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago
