      Advice: Cruz' go-ahead no-doubter to right-center in the sixth put the Pirates up for good. Cruz, who also doubled, collected his first multi-hit game in 12 games and only his third since April 6.       Aaron Judge went 2-for-3 and launched his seventh home run of the season on Sunday as the Yankees defeated the Tigers.

      Advice: Judge opened the scoring in the contest, crushing a 399-foot (109.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Tigers’ star southpaw Tarik Skubal in the home half of the first inning.       Spencer Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI as the Tigers fell to the Yankees on Sunday afternoon in New York.

      Advice: Torkelson smacked a two-out double off of Nestor Cortes in the second inning, but was left stranded there. He then got the Tigers on the board with a run-scoring double off of Ian Hamilton in the seventh inning. He’s still searching for his first home run of the season, but he does have 11 doubles and perhaps his bat is finally showing some signs of life.       Advice: Contreras accounted for all the offense for St. Louis on Sunday, launching a solo shot off of Garrett Crochet in the bottom of the fourth inning. The long ball was his sixth of the year and second in the last four contests.       Brandon Drury went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the loss to the Guardians on Sunday.

      Advice: Drury is fortunate injuries have left his playing time unchallenged, since he’s struggled mightily in hitting .161/.225/.215. His strikeout rate is actually down, but his power has followed, and he’s been pretty unlucky when it comes to picking up singles.     • Out with elbow inflammation
      The Padres placed Musgrove on the 15-day injured list Sunday with right elbow inflammation.

      Advice: Musgrove was expected to start Tuesday against the Cubs but will now be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. It's unclear when the injury surfaced for the right-hander, who struck out nine and allowed two runs over six innings his last time out versus the Cubs. According to Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, there's hope Musgrove will be able to return from the injured list when first eligible May 17 in Atlanta.       Padres placed RHP Joe Musgrove on the 15-day injured list with right triceps tendinitis.

      Advice: Musgrove was excellent in his start Wednesday against the Red with nine strikeouts and two runs allowed over six innings, but it appears not everything went well in that outing. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the move is “precautionary,” so it’s possible he will only miss a couple of starts before rejoining San Diego’s rotation.
