• Bryce Harper powers Phillies past Giants on Sunday
Bryce Harper connected on a three-run homer in the third inning on Sunday night, powering the Phillies to a 5-4 victory over the visiting Giants.

Advice: No Trea Turner, no problem for the National League’s hottest team as they won their fifth consecutive game and ninth of their last 10. The 31-year-old superstar tagged Giants’ starter Logan Webb for his 410-foot (107.0 mph EV) two-run blast, increasing the Phillies’ early advantage to 4-1. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the evening. For the season, he’s now hitting .234/.368/.468 with seven homers, 21 RBI and one stolen base through his first 31 ballgames. • Secures extra-inning win
Yates (3-0) earned the win after he pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a walk while striking two batters in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

Advice: Yates entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Rangers trailing 2-1 and he was able to work around a walk to keep it a one-run deficit going into the ninth. After Texas tied it up at 2-2, the right-hander returned for the following frame, setting the Royals down in order. The Rangers went on to win it in the 10th inning, earning Yates his third victory of the year. The 37-year-old has yet to allow an earned run this season while posting a 0.50 WHIP with five saves over 14 innings in 12 appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 4:14 pm

  • Wyatt Langford (hamstring) heading to 10-day IL
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters after Sunday’s game that Wyatt Langford will be placed on the injured list on Monday with a hamstring strain.

Advice: Bochy termed the injury as slightly more severe than a Grade 1 strain and noted that the 22-year-old outfielder will be facing a 3-4 week absence. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers who will need to be sure to have an alternative option in place for the next month or so while Langford recovers from the injury. Ezequiel Duran started in his place on Sunday and will likely see increased action while Langford is shelved. Rotoworld Today, 4:12 pm

  • Placed on 10-day IL
Langford (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday, Jackson Stone of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lanford is dealing with a right hamstring strain that he suffered in Saturday's win over the Royals, and he's now expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks according to manager Bruce Bochy. The 22-year-old typically operates as the team's designated hitter, and in his absence, Ezequiel Duran stands to see an increased role. Rotowire.com Today, 3:53 pm

  • Nick Pivetta (elbow) expected to start Wednesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that Nick Pivetta (elbow) is expected to come off the injured list to start Wednesday against Atlanta.

Advice: That’s a tough return, but it’s also welcome news for fantasy managers who are waiting for Pivetta to come off the shelf. The right-hander was able to throw 62 pitches in his rehab start Thursday for Triple-A Worcester, so he should be stretched out for five-plus innings in that outing. Rotoworld Today, 12:00 pm

  • Looks set to return Wednesday
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Pivetta (elbow) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Wednesday's game in Atlanta, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: Cora stopped short of confirming Pivetta for Wednesday, as the right-hander presumably needs to check out fine following a bullpen session Sunday or Monday before the Red Sox formally clear him to rejoin the rotation. Pivetta, who has been on the shelf since April 9 with a right elbow flexor strain, made a rehab start with Triple-A Worcester on Thursday and gave up four earned runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five across three innings. Despite the less-than-stellar results, the Red Sox were apparently encouraged by how Pivetta felt physically in the outing and are eager to bring him back into the big-league rotation this week. • Held out of Sunday's lineup
Langford (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Kansas City.

Advice: The 22-year-old departed Saturday's 15-4 win due to right hamstring tightness and will miss at least one start while the Rangers wait for the results of his MRI, according to Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News. Corey Seager will serve as the DH while Langford sits on Sunday, as Josh Smith starts at shortstop and Ezequiel Duran at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 8:52 am

  • Wyatt Langford (leg) not in lineup Sunday vs. KC
Wyatt Langford (leg) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Langford left Saturday’s game with a leg injury that occured trying to beat out a ground ball. The 22-year-old rookie will sit Sunday with Corey Seager operating as the designated hitter and Josh Smith playing shortstop. Rotoworld Today, 8:33 am

  • Reaches five innings in rehab start
Woo (elbow) struck out six and allowed three hits and no walks over five shutout innings in his third rehab start Saturday with Triple-A Tacoma.

Advice: Woo was about as sharp as the Mariners could have hoped in what was likely the final start of his rehab assignment, as he built up to 66 pitches (44 strikes) while making quick work of the Triple-A Sacramento lineup. Provided Woo experiences no complications with his right elbow during a bullpen session within the next couple of days, he should be cleared to return from the 15-day injured list to make his 2024 Mariners debut later this week. Emerson Hancock has been filling in as the Mariners' No. 5 starter while Woo has been out, but Seattle could have room in the rotation for both hurlers if George Kirby (knee) is forced to the 15-day IL. Woo is likely to be activated to start either Thursday in Minnesota or Friday at home versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Today, 7:16 am
