• Secures 16th save
Estevez threw a perfect ninth inning to earn a save over Detroit on Friday.

Advice: Estevez needed only nine pitches to sit down the heart of the Tigers' lineup in order. He's up to 16 saves on the year and has converted 10 straight chances. Since blowing his last save May 10, Estevez has given up just one earned run over 14.1 innings. He's lowered his season ERA to 3.12 with an impressive 27:3 K:BB through 26 appearances. • No-decision against former club
Stroman came away with a no-decision in Friday's 16-5 rout of the Blue Jays, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: The veteran right-hander made his big-league with the Jays in 2014 and had trouble keeping his composure in his return to Toronto, getting the hook after 88 pitches (52 strikes) and not sticking around long enough to benefit from a season-best offensive explosion by the Yankees. Stroman completed six innings only once in five June starts, but on the year he still sports a 3.29 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 70:43 K:BB through 95.2 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Reds. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

  • Struggles with command
Plesac yielded two runs on a hit and four walks over 2.2 innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out three during the win over Detroit.

Advice: Plesac retired eight straight batters to begin the game before unraveling in the third inning. With two outs in the frame, he put five straight runners on base and walked in a pair of runs. He posted a quality start in his season debut but has been tagged with eight runs in six frames over his last two outings, shooting his season ERA up to 8.25. As things stand, Plesac is lined up to start in Oakland next week, but it's unclear if he'll get another turn in the rotation. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

  • Yields two runs
Maeda allowed two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out four during the loss to the Angels.

Advice: Maeda was tagged with a two-run shot by Luis Rengifo in the first inning but settled in for a solid outing. In six starts since returning from the injured list, Maeda has registered a 4.71 ERA. That's helped lower his season mark to 5.76 alongside a 45:19 K:BB through 59.1 frames. Maeda hasn't earned a win since May 24 and hasn't finished at least six innings since May 1. He's in line for a road start against his former team, the Twins, next week. • Bags seventh save
Kopech earned the save in Friday's 5-3 win over the Rockies, pitching a scoreless inning and working around a walk.

Advice: The 28-year-old entered the ninth with a two-run lead and looked to immediately be in danger as he opened with six-pitch walk to Ryan McMahon. However, Kopech induced two consecutive groudouts, including one of the double-play variety, to escape with just his second save in June. The Chicago right-hander lowered his season ERA to 4.46 over 34.1 innings as he appears to have seized control of the closer's role over John Brebbia for the time being. • Handed tough-luck loss
Montas (3-6) allowed a run on two hits and three walks over six innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against St. Louis.

Advice: Montas gave up an RBI sacrifice fly to Alec Burleson in the third inning but otherwise didn't face too much trouble. However, the Reds were shut out by the Cardinals and Montas was stuck with the loss. He generated 17 whiffs, his second-highest total of the year. He's produced back-to-back quality starts and has three in five outings this month. Montas lowered his season ERA to 4.23 with a 58:30 K:BB through 72.1 innings. His next start is projected to be on the road against the Yankees. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago

  • Secures second victory
Thorpe (2-1) earned the win Friday versus Colorado, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: The Chicago right-hander shined in this outing, allowing just three baserunners en route to his second straight quality start. The only blemish on Thorpe's performance was a two-run homer allowed to Brenton Doyle in the sixth inning. Over his first four career starts, the White Sox rookie sports a 4.43 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 13:12 K:BB across 20.1 innings. He's currently slated to make his next appearance against the Guardians in Cleveland. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago

  • Luis Rengifo swats two-run homer vs. Tigers
Luis Rengifo hit a two-run homer in the Angels’ win Friday over the Tigers.

Advice: Rengifo gave the Angels a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two-run swat off Kenta Maeda. Those would be the only runs the Angels would pick up off Maeda, but the Halos were able to get to the Detroit bullpen to pull off the win. Rengifo has been a real bright spot for Los Angeles in 2024 with a .315 average, six homers and 24 RBI through the first 81 games of the year. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

  • Logan O’Hoppe clobbers three-run homer in win
Logan O’Hoppe hit a go-ahead three-run homer to help the Angels to a 5-2 win Friday over the Tigers.

Advice: O’Hoppe came up big — a three-run homer is always big, of course — in the seventh with a 418-foot blast to give the Angels a 5-2 lead and ultimately the victory. It also gave O’Hoppe 37 RBI and 11 homers, putting him on pace for exactly 22 roundtrippers and 74 runs driven in. You can do a lot worse, especially when you remember O’Hoppe is providing those numbers behind the plate. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago
