• Scheduled for follow-up MRI
Friedl (hamstring) is scheduled for a follow-up MRI exam soon, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: If the results of the exam show progress, Friedl will likely be cleared to begin running and more advanced baseball activity. The outfielder said he's playing catch and swinging off a tee. Friedl was eligible to be activated off the 10-day injured list July 4. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

  • Christian Walker homers twice again versus Dodgers
Christian Walker hit two more homers and walked twice Thursday as the Diamondbacks dominated the Dodgers 9-3.

Advice: Walker also homered twice Thursday. He has nine homers in nine games against the Dodgers this season, compared to 12 in 78 games against everyone else. With his OPS having climbed from .780 on Friday to .871 now, he’d seem to have a pretty good shot of finally landing his first All-Star berth. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:29 pm
  • Myers allows four in six innings against Rockies
Tobias Myers allowed four runs in six innings and took the loss against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Myers gave up eight hits, walked one and struck out five. Myers allowed an RBI double to Ryan McMahon in the first inning and a two-run double to Charlie Blackmon in the second inning. He held the Rockies scoreless from there until Jake Cave homered in the sixth inning. Myers has completed six innings in five of his last six starts and has a respectable 3.52 ERA on the season. The 25-year-old right-hander is set to face the Pirates at home next week.

  • Collects 22nd save
Suarez allowed a walk during a scoreless inning of relief Thursday to pick up the save against the Rangers. He struck out one.

Advice: Suarez picked up the save for the second-consecutive day, giving him 22 in 23 opportunities on the season. Suarez has not allowed a run in 32 of his 35 appearances, posting an ERA of 1.02 with a 0.76 WHIP and 33 strikeouts over 35.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:59 pm
  • Brenton Doyle sits Thursday with calf soreness
Brenton Doyle is not in the lineup for Thursday’s contest against the Brewers.

Advice: Doyle is dealing with some relatively minor calf soreness after fouling a ball off it during Wednesday’s loss to the Brewers so he’ll take a seat in the midst of a sizzling-hot stretch at the plate where he’s homered four times over his last seven contests. It’ll be Jake Cave in center field on Thursday evening in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:34 pm

  • Wyatt Langford puts on a show in losing effort
Wyatt Langford delivered an RBI single on Thursday in the Rangers’ loss to the Padres.

Advice: Langford made a pair of unbelievable highlight-reel worthy defensive plays and was responsible for plating the Rangers’ lone run of the contest with a run-scoring single off Padres starter Michael King in the sixth inning. The 22-year-old top prospect has been excellent over the last few weeks, batting .303 (33-for-109) with three homers and six steals over his last 30 games. He’s yet another textbook example of why fantasy managers should exercise patience with talented top prospects, even if they struggle initially upon reaching the majors. • Robert Suarez quiets Rangers to collect 22nd save
Robert Suarez fired a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday against the Rangers to record his 22nd save of the season.

Advice: Suarez came on to face the bottom of the Rangers’ lineup in the final frame with a two-run lead in hand and immediately got into trouble by issuing a leadoff walk to rookie sensation Wyatt Langford. Fortunately, he was able to get Leody Taveras to ground into a fielder’s choice before striking out Travis Jankowski and coaxing a game-ending ground out from Jonah Heim. He’s converted a staggering 22 of 23 save opportunities this season and figures to be named to the senior circuit’s All-Star Game roster in the coming days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:12 pm
  • Sitting with calf tightness
Doyle isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers due to calf tightness, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Doyle fouled a ball off his calf during Wednesday's loss and will sit out Thursday's game in order to recover. While he rests, Nolan Jones, Jake Cave and Sam Hilliard will start across Colorado's outfield. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:03 pm

  • Smacks 14th homer
Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Reynolds took Andre Pallante deep on the first pitch of the fourth, providing the only run for the Pirates until the 10th inning. Reynolds has found his power stroke of late, with six of his 14 home runs this season coming over his last 18 games. He's carried a hot bat since the beginning of June, slashing .319/.372/.588 with seven homers and 18 RBI over his last 29 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:43 pm
