• Earns 25th save
Clase earned a save against the Orioles on Tuesday, allowing one hit and no walks with one strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Clase was called upon to protect a 10-8 lead in the ninth inning and did so on just 14 pitches. Clase has eight saves in June and leads the American League with 25 total saves in what has been an amazing 2024 campaign. The 26-year-old is now 25-for-28 in save chances this season with a 0.70 ERA, 0.65 WHIP and 39:4 K:BB in 38.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:48 pm
  • Hit hard in loss
Irvin (6-4) took the loss against the Guardians on Tuesday, allowing eight runs (four earned) on 10 hits with no walks and one strikeout over four innings.

Advice: Irvin allowed three runs in the first two innings and then five runs in a disastrous fifth frame that included a three-run home run by Jose Ramirez. An error in the fifth resulted in four of the runs being unearned, but the lefty allowed 10 hard-hit balls and only generated five swinging strikes in his second consecutive rough outing. Irvin has yielded 13 runs (nine earned) in those two outings and now owns a 3.74 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 74:15 K:BB in 77 innings this season. The 30-year-old will try to get back on track in a home matchup against the Rangers this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:00 pm

  • Emmanuel Clase silences O’s to net 25th save
Emmanuel Clase tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday against the Orioles to record his 25th save of the season.

Advice: Clase was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the ninth inning at Camden Yards and managed to work around a one-out double from pinch-hitter Cedric Mullins to notch another save. The hard-throwing 26-year-old stopper has picked up four saves in the last week alone as Cleveland continues stringing together victories. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:27 pm

  • Nearing rehab assignment
Senga (shoulder/triceps) said Tuesday he expects to begin a minor-league rehab assignment next week, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The right-hander threw a successful live batting practice session Sunday and is scheduled for another Thursday, which could be the final hurdle before he's cleared for minor-league games. Senga will need multiple rehab starts to build up his workload before making his season debut for the Mets, so he likely won't be activated from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break. • Kodai Senga (shoulder) nearing rehab assignment
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is aiming to kick off a minor league rehab assignment next week.

Advice: Senga is scheduled to face hitters on Thursday in a live batting practice session, which will likely determine whether he’s ready to head out on an extended rehab assignment. The 31-year-old righty is going to require several rehab outings to build up his strength and stamina before making his season debut at some point after the All-Star break. • Will not appeal suspension
Diaz will begin serving his 10-game foreign substance suspension Tuesday after declining to appeal the ruling, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: While adamant he didn't use anything illegal, Diaz likely stood little chance of winning an appeal, so he'll get the suspension over with now. The closer will be eligible to return July 6. Adam Ottavino, Jake Diekman and Reed Garrett are candidates for save chances while Diaz is unavailable. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:10 pm

  • Another live BP on tap
Senga (shoulder/tricep) is scheduled to throw his next live batting practice session later this week, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: While facing hitters Sunday in Port St. Lucie, Fla. for the first time since early May, Senga tossed 22 pitches. He's scheduled to rejoin the Mets in New York this week, and assuming his arm responded well to Sunday's workout, he'll throw another live BP within the next few days. Senga was placed on the injured list coming out of spring training with a shoulder capsule strain and advanced to mound work in late April before having his throwing program shut down when he experienced tricep tightness and nerve inflammation. He's since resumed ramping back up but isn't expected to be ready to make his 2024 debut with the Mets until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 am

  • MLB suspends Edwin Díaz for 10 games
MLB suspended RHP Edwin Díaz for 10 games for violating the prohibitions on foreign substances.

Advice: The suspension became automatic the moment Díaz was tossed last night, though he can appeal it. Díaz said after the game that all he had on his hand was rosin, sweat and dirt. The Mets will go back to getting by with Adam Ottavino and Reed Garrett in the ninth. Rotoworld Monday, 3:30 pm
