    Advice: Gorman hit a grand slam in the fourth inning and added a single in the sixth. He was mired in a 2-for-29 slump but opened July with his first home run since June 19 and first multi-hit effort since June 4.   • Trea Turner homers twice in win over Cubs
    Trea Turner went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Cubs.

    Advice: Turner hit a solo homer in the top of the third inning to give the Phillies a 3-0 lead and later returned to hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning to push the lead to 5-1. The Phillies start shortstop now has five homers on the season and has hit safely in five of his last six games. Turner is slashing a solid .338/.386/.487 on the season but hasn’t offered much as far as steals are concerned, which could be chalked up to the hamstring injury he returned from a few weeks ago.   • Cease allows six earned, two homers vs. Rangers
    Dylan Cease allowed eight hits and six earned runs over 3 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Rangers.

    Advice: Cease had an up-and-down first inning. While he recorded all three of his outs via the strikeout, he allowed two hits, with the second coming on a two-run homer by Nathaniel Lowe to give the Rangers an early lead. It would only get worse from there, as Cease would give up another two-run bomb to Lowe in the third inning and was pulled in the fourth inning shortly after allowing a sixth run off a Marcus Semien single. It’s been a rough stretch for Cease, who has allowed 17 earned runs over his last 19 innings while striking up 29 batters and walking nine.     Ryan Helsley threw a scoreless ninth inning to pick up a save in a 7-4 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

    Advice: Gorman’s home run was a 415-foot shot for his 17th of the season to go along with 41 RBIs. However, he also struck out twice and came into today with a 36.5 percent strikeout rate. In his last 35 games, Gorman is hitting just .177/.241/.411 with a 36.5 percent strikeout rate. However, he also has 10 home runs and five steals over that span, so if you are not in a batting average league or are punting the category, you can likely still roster Gorman.   • Tyler Freeman has two hits, HR in win
    Tyler Freeman went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a win over the White Sox on Tuesday.

    Advice: The home run was Freeman’s seventh of the season to go along with 30 RBI. Despite some concerns about his playing time, Freeman has started five of the last six games in center field for the Guardians. His expected stats still suggest there should be some batting average gains coming for the 25-year-old, but he might never be a real asset in that category.     Stanton (hamstring) did some hitting Tuesday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

    Advice: It would appear to be the first time he's done any hitting since he landed on the 10-day injured list a little over a week ago with a left hamstring strain. Stanton is moving in the right direction but is still expected to miss about four weeks of action. Rotowire.com Today, 1:32 pm
