• Records seventh save
Beeks picked up the save in a win over the Brewers on Thursday, hurling 1.1 scoreless innings while striking out one.

Advice: Beeks relieved Tyler Kinley with two outs and two on in the eighth and got Garrett Mitchell to go down on strikes to escape the jam. The lefty returned for the ninth and went 1-2-3 through the top of Milwaukee's lineup to secure his seventh save of the season and his first since May 31 against the Dodgers. Beeks has not allowed an earned run in either of his last three appearances, while also posting at least one strikeout in each of those outings. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 am

  • Records save on Independence Day
Hader earned a save against the Blue Jays on Thursday, allowing one hit in one scoreless inning.

Advice: Hader entered in the ninth inning with Houston holding a two-run lead and immediately allowed a single to bring the tying run to the plate. However, he then induced a double play -- Toronto's fifth double play of the contest -- and needed just nine pitches overall to nail down his 14th save. Despite the successful outing, Hader snapped an eight-game streak of appearances with at least one punchout. He had posted a 14:1 K:BB across eight frames during that stretch. • Contreras has two hits in loss to Rockies Thursday
William Contreras went 2-for-5 against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Contreras enjoyed his time in Colorado. He went 8-for-19 (.421) with a home run and a double in the four game series at Coors Field. The 26-year-old All-Star catcher is hitting .298 with an .804 OPS on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:04 pm
  • Beeks picks up seventh save Thursday
Jalen Beeks threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings and picked up the save against the Brewers on Thursday.

Advice: It was Beeks’ seventh save of the year. He had blown his last three save opportunities. Beeks’ save was his first save since May 31st. He has a 4.19 ERA on the season. He has five wins and seven saves on the season, but isn’t the most reliable late inning arm in fantasy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:54 pm

  • Won't return when first eligible
Muncy (oblique) is still experiencing soreness and will not return when first eligible during the All-Star break, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Muncy is still swinging off a tee, but manager Dave Roberts described his progress as slow. He's first eligible to be activated during the All-Star break, which runs July 15-19, though it sounds as though his absence will extend into August. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:46 pm

  • Max Muncy (oblique) progressing slowly
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Thursday that Max Muncy is still dealing with right oblique soreness.

Advice: It certainly doesn’t sound like Muncy is anywhere close to returning since he’s still dealing with some soreness in his right oblique. The 33-year-old resumed swinging last week, but is making extremely slow progress at the moment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:34 pm

  • Steals bag in second straight game
Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two strikeouts in Thursday's 3-2 over the Pirates.

Advice: Goldschmidt had two hits and a steal in Wednesday's contest, and with another swipe Thursday, it became the 13th time in his career he's recorded stolen bases in back-to-back games. The 2022 NL MVP got off to a rough start this season with two home runs and .530 OPS through 37 games, but he's turned it around nicely since the middle of May. He's now slashing .261/.312/.452 with nine homers, 22 RBI and five steals over his last 46 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:17 pm
  • Josh Hader works around hit to pick up save
Josh Hader allowed a hit but no runs while picking up a save Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Hader gave up the hit, but worked around it while picking up his 14th save for the surging Astros. The left-hander needed just nine pitches to get through the inning, and six of those went for strikes. There’s every reason to believe Hader will be one of the best closers in baseball during the second half of the 2024 campaign. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:52 pm

  • Nabs fifth steal
Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Goldschmidt's midseason resurgence has continued into July -- he's opened the month with a pair of multi-hit efforts. He's batting .262 with six extra-base hits and two steals over his last 15 contests. The first baseman is at a .230/.297/.368 slash line with 11 home runs, five steals, 12 doubles, 33 RBI and 40 runs scored through 82 games overall, though his recent play is an encouraging sign for the second half.
