• Homer, steal in win
Rooker went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Angels.

Advice: Rooker has hit safely in six of his last seven games, going 8-for-26 (.308) with three homers in that span. He offers more power than speed -- with Tuesday's performance, he has 16 long balls and three steals across 72 contests this year. The 29-year-old has added a .261/.338/.515 slash line with 48 RBI, 30 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples as the Athletics' top designated hitter. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

  • Brent Rooker has jack and a bag in win over Angels
Brent Rooker socked a dinger and stole a base on Tuesday evening as the Athletics triumphed over the visiting Angels.

Advice: The 29-year-old slugger opened the scoring in the ballgame with his 405-foot (108.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Angels’ starter Jose Soriano in the fourth inning. Rooker also drew a walk in the fifth inning and swiped second base, but he was left stranded there. He finished the night 1-for-3 and is now hitting a respectable .261/.338/.515 to go along with 16 long balls, 48 RBI and three stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

  • Strikes out seven in win
Crawford (4-7) earned the win against the Marlins on Tuesday, allowing one run on three hits and no walks with seven strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Crawford allowed a solo home run to Jake Burger in the fifth inning but was otherwise fantastic, registering a whopping 16 swinging strikes on just 72 pitches. He only threw 23 pitches June 26 as the game was suspended for weather but has now logged quality starts in his past four official contests. On the season, the 28-year-old owns a 3.47 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 102:28 K:BB over 98.2 innings and lines up for a road matchup with the Yankees this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 8:16 pm

  • Hoffman picks up surprise save vs. Cubs
Jeff Hoffman pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his seventh save in Tuesday’s win over the Cubs.

Advice: The Phillies entered the ninth inning with a comfortable 6-1 lead but saw that lead slip to 6-4 after reliever José Ruiz failed to record an out while allowing a three-run homer to Seiya Suzuki. Hoffman ended up being tasked with putting out the fire and went on to strike out two of the three batters he faced. Rotoworld Today, 8:00 pm

  • Lindor has two hits, HR in win over Nationals
Francisco Lindor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in a 7-2 win over the Nationals in 10 innings on Tuesday.

Advice: Lindor hit three balls over 100 mph on Tuesday, including a 101.9 mph double and a 100.5 mph home run that traveled 403 feet for his 14th big fly of the season. The veteran may have started the year slowly, but he’s hitting .315 over his last six weeks with six home runs, 26 runs scored, and nine steals in 35 games. That will certainly do. • Skubal strikes out seven in loss to Twins
Tarik Skubal allowed three earned runs and four hits over six innings while striking out seven in Tuesday’s loss to the Twins.

Advice: Skubal pitched two scoreless innings to start the game but ran into trouble in the third inning. After striking out Willi Castro to start the frame, Skubal allowed back-to-back singles to Kyle Farmer and Manuel Margot before Royce Lewis eventually doubled to bring both runners around to score. He would later give up a solo homer to Margot in the fifth inning but returned to pitch a scoreless sixth before being pulled for Will Vest. Skubal has allowed seven earned runs over his last 17 innings pitched while posting a 21:4 K:BB ratio. The lefty didn’t get saddled with the loss in this one and will look to pick up his 10th win of the season on Sunday against the Reds. Rotoworld Today, 7:09 pm
  • Michal Kopech takes loss against Guardians
Michael Kopech allowed one run on one hit in 1/3 of an inning in a loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Kopech entered the ninth in a tie game and allowed a lead-off single to Andres Gimenez. Gimenez would later move over on a groundout and then a wild pitch allowed him to advance to third where he was driven in by a sac fly off the bat of Bo Naylor. Kopech had allowed just one run in his last six innings and wasn’t particularly bad here, but the wild pitch highlights some of the inconsistency that he brings at the end of games. • Kutter Crawford fans seven in victory over Marlins
Kutter Crawford struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings on Tuesday in a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Crawford took full advantage of a tasty matchup against the floundering Marlins at pitcher-friendly loanDepot park on Tuesday evening, retiring eight consecutive batters to open the contest, and carried a shutout bid into the fifth inning before serving up a solo homer to Jake Burger, which represented the lone tally against him over six frames. He generated 16 swinging strikes and finished with an astronomical 46 percent CSW. He’ll carry a solid 3.47 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 102/28 K/BB ratio across 98 2/3 innings (17 starts) into a challenging road tilt on Sunday against the Yankees in primetime. Get your popcorn ready. • Corey Seager (hand) able to swing a bat on Tuesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Tuesday that Corey Seager remains day-to-day with a left hand contusion.

Advice: Bochy added that Seager is doing better after being hit by a pitch during Saturday’s game and was able to progress to swinging a bat again. Although he’s not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Padres it certainly sounds like he has a shot at getting back into game action at some point in the coming days.
