• Corbin Carroll singles in loss to Padres
Corbin Carroll went 1-for-4 with a single as the Diamondbacks were demolished by the Padres on Saturday night in San Diego.

Advice: Hitting out of the eighth spot in the Diamondbacks’ lineup, the 23-year-old outfielder singled with two outs in the fifth inning but was left stranded at first base. He struck out in each of his other two plate appearances in the ballgame. It’s been a brutal start to the season for Carroll, as he’s hitting a paltry .194/.291/.242 with one home run, five RBI and eight stolen bases through his first 32 ballgames. • Bryan De La Cruz goes yard in blowout loss
Bryan De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: De La Cruz knocked a base hit in the fourth inning, then took Dany Jiménez deep for a two-run homer in the eighth. It wouldn’t be nearly enough in Miami’s blowout loss. The 27-year-old outfielder has been one of the team’s only bright spots, hitting .262/.305/.447 with six homers and 18 RBI across 151 plate appearances. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:22 pm
  • Homers among three hits
Tatis went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Tatis opened the game's scoring in the fourth inning with a two-run home run off Slade Cecconi. The Padres right fielder added an additional RBI the next inning with a single. His performance Friday night was a welcome sight as Tatis hadn't homered since April 19, hitting .130 (6-for-46) since then. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:11 pm
  • Fernando Tatis Jr. homers, drives in three in win
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI in a 7-1 win Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Padres were able to hit three homers Friday in the easy win, and Tatis Jr. swatted the first of those roundtrippers with a two-run shot in the fourth. The 25-year-old star also singled home a run in the fifth, and he’s up to seven homers and 20 RBI over the first month-plus. It’s nice to see Tatis Jr. remind early just how impressive of a talent he is. Rotoworld Friday, 9:25 pm
  • Slumbering bat
Martini went 0-for-4 in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to San Diego.

Advice: Martini is hitless in 10 at-bats and 4-for-41 (.098) over the last 13 games. He's been a regular in the lineup against right-handers but is hitting just .170 against them. Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:18 am
  • Swipes bag in Tuesday's win
Tatis went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, a steal, an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Tatis also reached base once more via a hit by pitch and stole his first bag since April 16. Coming into Tuesday, his numbers at the dish have been misleading. He was just 5-for-40 over his last 10 games, but posted a 72.4 percent hard-hit rate and averaged an exit velocity of 96.9 mph. He's experiencing some bad luck at the moment, which should turn around sooner than later. For the season, Tatis is slashing .238/.326/.437 with six homers, 17 RBI, 22 runs, four steals and a 15:27 BB:K in 144 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:44 am
  • Corbin Carroll settles for lone single in loss
Corbin Carroll contributed a single in four at-bats as the Diamondbacks’ No. 8 hitter on Monday.

Advice: Carroll had two hard-hit balls tonight, including a 408-foot flyout that Statcast said would have been a homer in 17 of 30 ballparks. Power has been the issue for the 23-year-old this season, so this was a pretty good night, even if the box score looks perfectly generic. Rotoworld Monday, 10:41 pm
  • Crosses plate twice in loss
De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

Advice: It was the 27-year-old's first multi-hit performance since April 17. De La Cruz has cooled down significantly, batting .205 (8-for-39) over the last 10 games, but he remains entrenched as the No. 2 hitter for a Miami team struggling to find consistent offense. On the season, he's slashing .261/.294/.437 with five homers, a steal, 13 runs and 14 RBI in 29 contests. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:26 am
  • Slump continues
Carroll batted seventh and went 0-for-4 in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Carroll, who was dropped in the order Wednesday following a day off amid a slump, has hit seventh or eighth over the last four contests. It hasn't helped awake the bat. Carroll is 0-for-13 in those four games and is 1-for-25 with 11 strikeouts over the last seven. He's sitting at .189/.295/.236 with just five RBI over 27 games. Rotowire.com Apr 28, 5:49 pm
