• Report: Nathan Eovaldi unlikely to return Sunday
Jeff Wilson of Rangers Today reports Nathan Eovaldi (groin) is unlikely to return this weekend.

Advice: Eovaldi is progressing towards a return from the injured list, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll return this weekend, as the Rangers are most likely going to roll with a bullpen game for Sunday’s series finale against the Twins. There should be some additional clarity on his return timetable at some point this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 6:55 am

  • Picks up ninth save
Doval gave up a run on two hits and a walk while striking out one in the ninth inning Friday to record his ninth save of the season in an 8-7 win over the Mets.

Advice: The Giants scored six of their runs in the eighth and ninth innings just to create the save chance, but Doval very nearly squandered it following a leadoff double by pinch hitter DJ Stewart and a fielding error by Marco Luciano. It was the first earned run the right-hander has allowed since May 8 at Coors Field, and on the season Doval carries a 3.05 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 27:15 K:BB through 20.2 innings while converting nine of 10 save opportunities. • José Alvarado gives up game-tying homer to Rockies
José Alvarado took a blown save after giving up a game-tying homer to Jacob Stallings in the ninth inning Friday against the Rockies.

Advice: Alvarado has a couple of losses, but this is his first blown save to go along with nine saves and four holds. He’s still the clear favorite for saves in Philadelphia. Incredibly, he’s walked just two batters in his last 18 appearances, spanning 16 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:49 pm
  • Picks up 11th save
Foley set down the lone batter he faced to pick up the save in Friday's 6-2 win over Toronto.

Advice: Andrew Chafin recorded the first two outs in the ninth inning before allowing four consecutive base hits, allowing the Blue Jays to get the tying run to the plate. However, Foley would come on in relief to set down Danny Jansen for the final out, earning his 11th save this season. While the Tigers don't have a clear ninth-inning hierarchy, Foley still appears to be the best bet for saves in Detroit. His ERA is down to 2.41 on the year with a 1.34 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB across 18.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:57 pm

  • Bailey Ober earns fifth victory for Twins
Bailey Ober threw five innings of two-run ball for the win as the Twins edged the Rangers 3-2 on Friday.

Advice: Marcus Semien singled and Corey Seager homered to start the top of the first, but those proved to be the only runs of the night for Texas. Ober wasn’t as efficient as usual in walking three and throwing 99 pitches in five innings tonight, but he got the job done. He’s 5-2 with a 4.33 ERA. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:06 pm

  • Pops fourth homer
Rengifo went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, one RBI, and two runs scored in Friday's loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Rengifo opened the game's scoring by popping a 413-foot solo shot in the bottom of the first. The switch-hitting Angel has been hot since returning from an illness on May 17, hitting .300 (9-for-30) with two homers, three steals, four runs scored and five RBI. Overall, Rengifo is slashing .322/.374/.504 in 132 plate appearances while playing every day at second or third base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:56 pm

  • Earns victory over Rangers
Ober (5-2) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over five innings Friday, striking out five and earning a win over Texas.

Advice: Ober coughed up a two-run shot to Corey Seager in the first inning but settled in for a solid outing. Despite striking out just five batters, Ober forced a season-high 16 whiffs, including seven with the changeup. He's generated at least 12 swinging strikes in six of his last seven starts. He owns a 4.33 ERA through 10 starts and a 3.02 ERA over his last nine. Ober's next outing is expected to be at home against the Royals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:33 pm

  • Luis Rengifo doubles and homers in loss to CLE
Luis Rengifo doubled and homered in a loss Friday to the Angels.

Advice: Rengifo also singled. The 27-year-old took Logan Allen deep in the first inning, and the three-reach game now has his slash looking healthy at .322/.374/.504. Rengifo has been up-and-down for the majority of his MLB career. Right now he’s on the right side of that. There’s reason to believe it won’t last for much longer, respectfully. • Suffers first blown save
Alvarado blew the save Friday against the Rockies. He allowed one run on two hits and no walks over one inning while striking out two.

Advice: Alvarado looked to be cruising to another save after striking out Jordan Beck and Hunter Goodman to start the bottom of the ninth inning. However, pinch hitter Jacob Stallings and his career .340 slugging percentage had different plans, crushing a 427-foot solo home run to hand Alvarado his first blown save in 2024. The flame-throwing lefty sports a 3.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB in 22.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:45 pm
