    Camilo Doval struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Cubs on Wednesday.

  • Francisco Álvarez unstoppable in win
    Francisco Álvarez went 3-for-3 with a home run, double, walk, three runs scored, and three RBI in the Mets’ 12-2 win over the Yankees.

    Advice: It’s very easy to forget that Álvarez is only 22-years-old. It’s even easier to forget he just missed nearly two months with a torn ligament in his left thumb.   • Craig Kimbrel earns 17th save
    Craig Kimbrel struck out the side and walked one batter on Wednesday to nail down the save against the Guardians.

    Daulton Varsho (back) was held out of the Blue Jays’ starting lineup once again for Wednesday’s battle against the Red Sox.

    Advice: It’s the fourth straight game that the 27-year-old slugger has missed due to the lingering back issue.     Springer went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Red Sox.

    Advice: The 34-year-old outfielder capped a seven-run eruption for the Blue Jays in the third inning when he drove a Brayan Bello slider into the right-center field bullpen at Fenway Park. Springer is having the worst season of his career by a wide margin -- Tuesday's long ball snapped a 17-game homer drought, and it highlighted his first multi-hit performance since June 3.
