• Kutter Crawford gives up three homers in loss
Kutter Crawford surrendered five runs — three earned — in 6 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: Crawford surrendered three homers tonight, bringing his total allowed to seven in his last three starts. He’s given up at least one in seven straight outings. Odds are that Crawford will bounce back from this, but he’s never been more than a fringy mixed-league option in a bad situation for pitchers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:40 pm

  • Converts 14th save
Estevez struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Estevez has not put a runner on base over his last eight innings, striking out eight and earning seven saves and a win in that span. A groundout moved the initial runner to third base in the 10th inning, but Estevez struck out the next two batters to protect the one-run lead. He's now 14-for-17 in save chances with a 3.38 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 25:3 K:BB over 24 innings. This is arguably the best Estevez has ever looked in the majors, which will boost his trade value, though he's unlikely to be a primary closer on a different team if a deal comes to fruition. • George Kirby solid for seven in no-decision
George Kirby was left with a no-decision after seven innings of two-run ball Friday against the Marlins.

Advice: Kirby was undone by back-to-back solo homers in the sixth. The first of those, off the bat of Bryan De La Cruz, would have been a homer in three ballparks, according to Statcast. Apart from that sequence, Kirby was masterful. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in 11 of 16 starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:56 pm

  • Carlos Estévez gets save against Dodgers
Carlos Estévez struck out two while picking up a save in a scoreless inning of work against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Estévez has been one of the few bright spots for the Angels this year, and now has 14 saves on the season and a 3.38 ERA. With Los Angeles nowhere near contention for a postseason spot, it would seem likely that the 31-year-old is pitching for a new team before August. Whether that’s in a closing role or not is a big question. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:56 pm
  • Josh Naylor with two hits and two RBI
Josh Naylor went 2-for-4 with a double, single, and two RBI on Friday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Naylor, known for hitting the ball hard, started the Guardians seven-run second inning with an 11 pitch at-bat that wound up as a cheap double and ended the rally with a dribbler that plated two runs. But hey, that’s baseball. Naylor seems to be heating up with hits in nine of his last 11 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:49 pm

  • Josh Lowe smacks two homers
Josh Lowe went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in a 10-3 win for the Rays over the Pirates.

Advice: Lowe took righty Luis Ortiz deep twice and vaulted the Rays to a victory in Pittsburgh. Injuries have stalled what was hoped to be a big breakout season for the young left-hander as he only just reached 100 plate appearances after this game. There’s plenty of time for his ugly slash line to improve and his 16.4% Barrel Rate is by far the best mark he’s ever shown. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:32 pm

  • Homers, reaches three times in win
Alvarez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in Friday's 11-1 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Alvarez opened the second inning with a 420-foot solo home run off Shota Imanaga then walked in the fourth and ninth frames. The homer was Alvarez's first since returning from a thumb injury June 11, and he has eight hits and five RBI during a modest four-game hitting streak. On the season, Alvarez is slashing .271/.319/.400 with two home runs and 15 RBI in 91 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:17 pm
  • Continues piping hot June
Santana went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, double and an additional run scored Thursday against the Rays.

Advice: Santana extended his modest hit streak to six games and posted his second three-hit game of the season while blasting his 12th home run Thursday. The 38-year-old has found the fountain of youth in June, going 20-for-55 (.364) with four homers, five doubles, 15 RBI, 10 runs and a couple of steals through 16 games this month. • McMahon belts 13th home run Thursday
Ryan McMahon went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was McMahon’s 13th of the year. It was McMahon’s third game in a row with at least two hits. Over his last eight games, he’s 13-for-33 (.393) with three home runs, nine runs scored and six RBI. McMahon is up to .274 with a .826 OPS and 40 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:33 pm
