• Guillermo Zuñiga (pectoral) begins rehab
Guillermo Zuñiga (pectoral) went 2/3 of an inning in a rehab appearance with short-season AZL Angels on Monday.

Advice: Zuñiga began his rehab assignment missing over a month and a half with a right pectoral strain. The right-hander will have a chance to rejoin the Los Angeles bullpen after that assignment is over, but it will likely not be in a high-leverage role. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

  • Bryan Mata (hamstring) goes two in rehab start
Bryan Mata (hamstring) allowed one run over two innings in a rehab appearance Monday in the Gulf Coast league.

Advice: Mata has been on the injured list since the beginning of the season while recovering from a hamstring injury. The 25-year-old will likely need several more appearances before potentially joining Boston, and there’s no guarantee he’ll be on the roster even if healthy enough to compete. • Mops up loss
White allowed three runs on three hits and one walk over one inning in Monday's 7-0 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: White was part of a bullpen meltdown that allowed seven runs in the final two innings following starter Michael Lorenzen's seven shutout frames. This was the second appearance for White since being called up last week, and it hasn't been good for the 24-year-old right-hander. He's allowed more runs (six) than batters retired (three). Like last season, the Rangers are having bullpen troubles. The back end of David Robertson (2.61 ERA, 20.2 innings) and Kirby Yates (0.56 ERA, seven of seven in save situations) is strong, but in between the starters and the back end is a challenge. • Takes loss Monday
Leclerc (3-3) was charged with Monday's loss. He allowed three runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one over a third of an inning in a 7-0 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Starter Michael Lorenzen pitched well enough to win -- seven shutout innings -- but he got little support from the offense or the bullpen, which ceded seven runs over the final two innings. It started with Leclerc, who has allowed runs in three consecutive appearances (five runs, four hits, three walks, three innings). The team's closer to start the season, Leclerc had shifted back to lower-leverage outings and worked his way back with a stretch of nine scoreless innings prior to this recent three-game downturn. His ERA now stands at 6.88 with a 1.71 WHIP and 15 walks over 17 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 4:21 am
  • Delivers two in loss
Ford went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI in Monday's 6-5 loss to Arizona.

Advice: Ford made a significant contribution for a second consecutive game. After a game-tying, eighth-inning home run in Sunday's loss to the Giants, Ford hit a game-tying single in the sixth then a go-ahead triple in the eighth Monday. Cincinnati's offense has struggled, so if Ford's bat gets going, he could land a semi-regular role until Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) returns. Rotowire.com Today, 3:59 am
  • Stays hot in loss
Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Candelario, who has multiple hits in three of the last six games, is heating up. He's 9-for-24 during that stretch with two doubles, a home run and six RBI. The resurrected bat prompted a move up the order to fifth, after Candelario spent time in the lower third since mid-April. Rotowire.com Today, 3:48 am
  • Two straight blown saves
Ginkel allowed two runs on two hits and a walk over one inning, picking up a blown save in Monday's 6-5 win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Ginkel failed to hold an eighth-inning lead for a second consecutive appearance. He's allowed runs in three of the last four outings, all since he slid back from closer to a setup role. Rotowire.com Today, 3:36 am
  • Plays hero Monday
Newman went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Monday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

Advice: Newman ended the night with a walk-off, two-run single off Cincinnati closer Alexis Diaz, who had hit a batter and walked two before the shortstop played hero. It was the third consecutive game with multiple hits for Newman, who is 8-for-12 with four doubles, a triple, two RBI and four runs scored during that stretch. He's added 74 points to his batting average -- from .179 to .253 -- due to this outburst and is more in line with his career mark of .259. He had become the team's primary shortstop, because his glove was more reliable than rookie Blaze Alexander. Newman should continue to serve that role until Geraldo Perdomo (knee) is ready, which is expected at some point in June. Rotowire.com Today, 3:28 am

  • Records 11th steal
Blanco went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Blanco was 1-for-2 on stolen base attempts in the game. The outfielder began the year in a bench role, but he's hit his way into starting four of the last five games with time at all three outfield positions. He's gone 7-for-17 (.412) since May 6. Blanco doesn't have much of a track record in a starting role, but he's slashed .293/.356/.439 with a home run, two RBI, 14 runs scored and 11 steals through 45 plate appearances this season as a speed-and-defense option. Blanco's increased playing time has primarily come at the expense of MJ Melendez and Kyle Isbel. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:59 pm
