• Randy Vásquez strikes out six over 4 1/3 innings
Randy Vásquez allowed one earned run over 4 1/3 innings while striking out six in the Padres’ loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Vásquez’s lone blemish of the night came on a solo home run from Cody Bellinger. He would be pulled with one out in the fifth after allowing a single to Miguel Amaya, but managed to lower his ERA to 4.50 on the season and has allowed one earned run in two of his three starts on the year. His six strikeouts marks a new career-high for Vásquez, who will make his next start on Monday against the Rockies. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

  • Iglesias earns ninth save in win over Red Sox
Rasiel Iglesias earned his ninth save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Iglesias retired all three batters he faced to earn his ninth save of the season and help snap the Braves’ three-game skid. It was a much-needed win over a beatable team after the Braves dropped all three games on the road against the Dodgers, as Iglesias is now 9-for-11 in save opportunities on the season. • Kutter Crawford strikes out six in loss to Braves
Kutter Crawford allowed two earned runs over six innings while striking out six in the Red Sox loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: Crawford gave up a two-run bomb to Jarred Kelenic in the third inning and scattered four more hits across six frames. The righty lowered his ERA to 1.75 on the year, and has now struck out six or more batters in six of his eight starts on the year. He’s off to a surprisingly strong start for the Red Sox this season, and will look to keep things going on Monday against the Rays. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

  • Reynaldo López strikes out 5 vs. Red Sox
Reynaldo López allowed one earned run and six hits over 5 1/3 innings in the Braves’ 4-2 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: López was solid through five innings, but three walks in the sixth – one of which walked in the Red Sox first run of the night – led to him being replaced by Aaron Bummer. He would only be charged with one earned run before the inning finally ended. López scattered six hits across his outing, and pitched his way out of a dicey first inning to leave two runners stranded. López has allowed three runs or fewer in each of his six starts this season, and will look to earn his first win of May on Monday against the Cubs. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

  • CT scan on Ryan Pepiot’s leg comes back negative
A CT scan on Ryan Pepiot’s left leg came back negative for any fractures.

Advice: Pepiot was sent for some additional imaging after taking a 107.5 mph comebacker off his left leg during Sunday’s series finale against the Mets. The positive news is that he appears to have avoided serious injury, but Rays manager Kevin Cash indicated late Tuesday that the 26-year-old righty is likely headed for the injured list. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers since Pepiot has been pitching extremely well this season in his Tampa Bay debut. Rotoworld Today, 6:27 pm

  • Montas takes tough luck loss in return from IL
Frankie Montas allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits in six innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Advice: Montas was sharp in his return from the IL, striking out seven and walking just one. He allowed just one extra-base hit on the day and his two runs were driven in on a fielder’s choice and single to score a runner who was only on because of an Elly De La Cruz error. Montas was throwing two mph harder on every pitch in his arsenal; however, he was only able to get strikeouts on his splitter and registered a 25 percent CSW. It feels a little bit like Montas will still go as far as his splitter will take him, which makes him a risky proposition in fantasy leagues but one you can likely start against the Giants this weekend. • Kyle Finnegan notches 12th save of the season
Kyle Finnegan recorded his 12th save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Orioles.

Advice: Finnegan pitched a perfect ninth inning to close out the Orioles in the 3-0 win. The Nationals closer is now 12-of-13 in save opportunities this season and is a perfect 3-for-3 in save opportunities this month. He and the National will look to record a two-game sweep of the Orioles in the short series on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 6:14 pm

  • Ian Gibaut (forearm) to undergo surgery Thursday
Ian Gibaut (forearm) is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Advice: There should be a clearer timetable for Gibaut’s potential return following the surgical procedure. The 30-year-old righty is expected to undergo either a relatively minor carpal tunnel release or a much more invasive forearm nerve procedure that would require a longer recovery time. • Chad Green (shoulder) resumes throwing
Chad Green (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session later this week.

Advice: Green landed on the injured list back in late April with a teres major strain in his right shoulder and remains without a firm return timetable. Rotoworld Today, 5:17 pm
