      Advice: Though he logged his fourth straight defeat, this was a bounce-back effort of sorts for Rodon after he surrendered 21 runs (20 earned) over 13.2 innings across his previous three starts. The veteran hurler did, however, continue to struggle with the long ball Wednesday, yielding multiple homers for the third straight outing.       Abbott (8-6) earned the win over the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and four walks while striking out two batters over 6.1 innings.

      Advice: Abbott wasn't overpowering -- he induced just six swinging strikes and notched only two punchouts -- but he got the job done with his sixth quality start of the campaign. The southpaw allowed only one extra-base hit (a double) and didn't yield a run while he was in the game, as the only score charged to his ledger came after he departed with one out in the seventh inning. Through 17 starts, Abbott is up to eight wins, which is as many as he logged across 21 outings as a rookie last year.       Advice: Scott was called up from Triple-A on Wednesday to log his first big-league start since May 30, but he didn't make much of an impression. The rookie right-hander tied a season-worst mark by allowing four runs, and he struck out a season-low two batters. It was an especially disappointing outcome for Scott after he retired 12 of the first 14 batters he faced -- six of the eight baserunners he allowed came over his final 1.2 frames, and he departed after giving up a three-run homer to Luis Garcia with two outs in the sixth. Despite the overall poor result, there's a good chance Scott will get at least another turn through the rotation with New York not having an off day until the All-Star break and with Tylor Megill recently demoted to the minors. This was the fourth time in six outings that he's failed to complete five innings. Mazur has a 7.52 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 15:17 K:BB through 26.1 innings as he continues to struggle during his first stint in the majors.       Advice: Mena got into trouble immediately in this one, giving up a hit and a walk to put two runners on for Freddie Freeman, who took him deep for a three-run blast to put the Dodgers ahead. Teoscar Hernandez followed with a solo homer. Mena tossed two more scoreless frames and end his day after three innings with two strikeouts.       Gavin Stone allowed four runs with three strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

      Advice: This wasn’t one Stone’s best outings as the Diamondbacks chased him after just three frames. A base hit and two walks loaded the bases before the Diamondbacks brought a run in on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. He worked around a bases-loaded jam in the second, then gave up three runs, including a two-run blast by Gabriel Moreno, in the third. That was it for Stone, ending his day with a 3.03 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 73/28 K/BB ratio across 92 innings. He’ll take on the Phillies in Philadelphia on Tuesday.       Advice: The Tigers put up nine runs of support, which was more than enough to help Montero earn his first MLB win. The rookie had allowed nine runs across 8.2 innings in his first two starts in the majors, but he looked much more comfortable in his third appearance. He's expected to stick in the rotation for at least a few turns with Casey Mize (hamstring) on the injured list, and Montero's next start is tentatively scheduled for July 11 as Detroit juggles its rotation before the All-Star break.
