    • Strikes out seven in win
Castillo (6-7) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings to earn the win over the Rangers on Friday.

Advice: Castillo received an extra day of rest after Emerson Hancock got a spot start in Thursday's series finale versus the White Sox. It looks like that was a good move, as Castillo was able to bounce back from his worst start of the year to earn his third quality start in his last four outings. The right-hander limited the Rangers' offense to the first inning, when he gave up both runs and three of the four hits on his line. Castillo is now at a 3.32 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 92:24 K:BB over 89.1 innings through 15 starts. He's projected for a challenging road matchup versus the Guardians next week. • Luis Castillo holds Rangers to two runs over six
Luis Castillo struck out seven after six innings of two-run baseball against the Rangers on Friday while picking up a win.

Advice: Castillo scuffled in the first inning, allowing a pair of RBI singles. After that, the right-hander was excellent while keeping the Rangers off the board over the next five frames. The six strong innings see him lower his ERA on the campaign to 3.32 with a 92/24 K/BB. Castillo’s next chance to pitch is scheduled for Thursday against the Guardians in Cleveland. • Freddie Freeman drives in go-ahead run in eighth
Freddie Freeman singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning to give the Dodgers a 4-3 win over the Royals on Friday.

Advice: With the score tied at 3-3, Freeman drove in a run with an RBI single to give the Dodgers a 4-3 lead and ultimately the victory. The 34-year-old has now driven in 42 runs, and nine of those have come in the first half of June. To the surprise of absolutely no one, Freeman remains one of the best first baseman — and hitters regardless of position — in the sport. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm

    • J.D. Martinez doubles home two in win
J.D. Martinez went 1-for-3 with a double, walk, and two RBI on Friday against the Padres.

Advice: Martinez’s double was the extent of the Mets’ damage against Matt Waldron and offense in general on Friday. He’s now driven in the last four runs for the Mets going back to his walk-off home run on Thursday and is sporting an 18 game on-base streak. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:13 pm

    • Hunter Brown dominates in victory over Tigers
Hunter Brown delivered a dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Tigers, racking up nine strikeouts over seven innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander didn’t walk a batter on the night and all five of the hits that he allowed were singles. Brown generated 15 swings and misses on 96 pitches on the night — four or more on each of his sinker, cutter and slider — while registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine performance as he carries a 5.00 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 76/29 K/BB ratio (68 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the White Sox in Chicago. • Stymies Tigers in victory
Brown (3-5) earned the win Friday against Detroit, allowing five hits and no walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Brown entered this evening on a hot streak, firing a 2.25 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB in 24 innings over his last four starts. He kept that stellar work rolling, generating 15 whiffs en route to nine punchouts, equaling his season-high strikeout mark in a game also reached May 28. The Houston right-hander has been an ace-level pitcher since May 1, going 3-1 with a 2.58 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 52:15 K:BB in 45.1 innings over seven starts. Brown is slated to face the White Sox on the road in his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:04 pm

    • Eduardo Rodriguez getting follow-up MRI Saturday
Eduardo Rodriguez (lat) will undergo a follow-up MRI exam on Saturday.

Advice: Rodriguez has increased his throwing distance to 105 feet in recent days and if all goes well with Saturday’s check-up, he could be cleared to throw off of a mound for the first time. The Diamondbacks are taking every possible precaution here, but they’re hopeful that Rodriguez will be able to join the rotation at some point around the All-Star break. • Belts first career walk-off homer
Martinez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double Thursday in a 3-2 win against the Marlins.

Advice: Martinez accounted for both of New York's extra-base hits in the victory, with his first knock being a seventh-inning double that contributed to the team's first run. The veteran slugger's second hit was more dramatic -- he took Miami closer Tanner Scott deep for a two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was Martinez's 321st career long ball and the first walk-off home run of his 14-year career. He's gone deep six times through 168 plate appearances this season. • Hitting streak reaches 11
Reynolds went 1-for-5 with an RBI on Thursday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Reynolds hit a comebacker that glanced off Lance Lynn in the fifth inning to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. The outfielder has gone 15-for-46 in that span, while also tallying six RBI and five runs scored. Even with the strong stretch, Reynolds is hitting a mediocre .262 and also has a .160 ISO across 306 plate appearances this season -- the lowest mark of his career. Rotowire.com Thursday, 9:23 pm
