• Makes third straight start
Duran started in left field and went 2-for-3 with a run scored in Friday's 4-2 loss to Colorado.

Advice: Duran made a third consecutive start and has hit in all three, going 6-for-10 with one RBI and three runs scored. He's started in left field and third base during the three-start run, and there will be plenty of opportunities at each position with Wyatt Langford (hamstring) and Josh Jung (wrist) on the injured list. Neither is due back until the end of the month at the earliest. Rotowire.com Today, 9:43 am

  • Two more RBI
Steer went 2-for-3 with a walk, double and two RBI in Friday's 4-2 win over San Francisco.

Advice: Steer's first-inning, two-out double plated the Reds' first run, then his third-inning single tied the game. He has four RBI in the last two games and leads the Reds with 27 runs driven in. Rotowire.com Today, 9:27 am

  • Ke’Bryan Hayes dealing with minor back issue
Ke’Bryan Hayes is day-to-day with a minor back issue.

Advice: Hayes has been held out of Pittsburgh’s lineup for two consecutive contests due to a lingering back issue, but told reporters on Friday that he doesn’t expect it to be a problem moving forward. It certainly sounds like he’ll be at the hot corner when top prospect Paul Skenes takes the ball on Saturday evening for his highly-anticipated debut. Rotoworld Today, 7:53 am

  • Orelvis Martinez leaves game Friday with injury
Blue Jays INF prospect Orelvis Martinez was removed from Friday’s game for Triple-A Buffalo after being hit by a pitch.

Advice: Martinez was lifted from the contest after being struck in the right knee during the eighth inning of Friday’s showdown and there wasn’t an update on his status immediately afterwards. It’s a tough break for the 22-year-old top prospect, who holds a .910 OPS with nine homers this season at the Triple-A level and seems poised to ascend to the majors at some point in the near future. There should be an update on his status at some point this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 7:43 am

  • Exits after HBP
Martinez left Friday's game with Triple-A Buffalo in the eighth inning after being hit on the right knee by a pitch, Julia Kreuz of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 22-year-old tried to take first base but was showing pain in his first couple steps, so he was removed as a precaution. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, but Martinez could be held out for the rest of the weekend series against Worcester if the Blue Jays want to make sure their top hitting prospect is 100 percent before he gets back in the lineup. Martinez is slashing .276/.359/.551 through 34 games for Buffalo with nine homers and a 13:31 BB:K. Rotowire.com Today, 7:40 am

  • Provides offense Friday
Vierling went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Vierling's third-inning double put Detroit up 2-0, but the Tigers stagnated from there. The 27-year-old got the start at third base in this one, which is where he's seen most of his time lately with Gio Urshela (hamstring) on the injured list. Urshela recently began a rehab assignment, however, and his eventual return could push Vierling back to more of a utility role. Rotowire.com Today, 7:11 am

  • Nabs second steal
Berti went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a 2-0 victory versus the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Berti started at third base and batted out of the No. 9 hole, and he was one of four Yankees with multiple hits in the victory. It was his third start in six games since returning from the injured list May 4, as Oswaldo Cabrera continues to get ample playing time at the hot corner. Berti has hit well since coming off the IL, going 5-for-11 with two runs, an RBI and two stolen bases. Rotowire.com Today, 7:11 am

  • Supplies only offense in loss
Kiner-Falefa went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Twins.

Advice: The utility infielder popped a solo shot off Joe Ryan in the third inning and brought home Bo Bichette with a ninth-inning single, but the rest of the Blue Jays' offense was quiet on the night. Kiner-Falefa is batting .379 (11-for-29) over the last nine games as he fills a nearly everyday role while bouncing between second base and third base, but Friday's homer was just his second of the season, and his first extra-base since April 19. • Homers off bench Friday
Gorman hit a solo home run in his lone at-bat during Friday's 11-2 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Gorman entered the game as a defensive replacement after the Brewers turned it into a rout, and his ninth-inning blast ended the 24-year-old's 0-for-14 skid to begin the month of May. The second baseman is slashing a meager .179/.262/.350 with five homers, 13 RBI, nine runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases over 130 plate appearances. Gorman began the year in a near-everyday role at the keystone, but he's now sat out against the last three southpaws the Cardinals have faced, with Jose Fermin picking up the playing time. Gorman had reverse splits last season and that has carried over into 2024, but he's simply not hitting well enough overall to justify a full-time role. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:35 pm
