    • Homers, stays hot in win
Kwan went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Kwan got things going early, walking and scoring a run in the first inning then hitting a two-run homer in the second. He later added a single in the sixth. Kwan continues to rake since his return from a hamstring injury May 31, extending his hitting streak to 13 games with eight multi-hit efforts in that span. On the season, he is hitting a ridiculous .397 with five home runs, 20 RBI and 41 runs scored in 205 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:50 pm

    • Steven Kwan with two more hits, goes yard
Steven Kwan went 2-for-3 with a home run, walk, and two runs scored on Wednesday against the Mariners.

Advice: Kwan continues what’s been an all-time start to the season. His batting average ticked back up to an unthinkable .397 and the homer was his fifth of the season. For the “batting average doesn’t matter” folks, Kwan’s OPS sits at 1.010 through nearly 45 games. Few in the league are hitting better than him right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:09 pm

    • Tarik Skubal gives up two homers in loss to Braves
Tarik Skubal surrendered five runs — four earned — in four innings Wednesday in a loss to the Braves.

Advice: Skubal struck out seven and gave up only five hard-hit balls. Unfortunately, two of those hard-hit balls went 426 and 407 feet, as Skubal allowed two homers for just the second time this season. It’s the fourth time this season that he’s allowed exactly four earned runs. He’s given up a total of nine earned runs in his other 11 outings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:31 pm
    • Takes second straight loss
Skubal (8-3) took the loss Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Most of the damage against Skubal came via the long ball Wednesday -- he gave up a two-run homer to Sean Murphy in the third inning before Ramon Laureano tacked on a solo shot in the fourth. The 27-year-old Skubal has now lost back-to-back starts for the first time this season -- he's given up eight earned runs over 10.1 innings in that span. The left-hander still sports a solid 2.50 ERA on the year with a 0.97 WHIP and 105:18 K:BB across 90 innings. Skubal is lined up for another tough matchup next week at home versus the Phillies. • Cruises to fourth win
Cortes (4-5) picked up the win in Tuesday's 4-2 victory over the Orioles, allowing five hits over six scoreless innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Advice: The crafty lefty was at his baffling best, and the only runner Baltimore got past second base against Cortes came on an Austin Wells passed ball in the sixth inning. Cortes threw a season-high 105 pitches (64 strikes) in the outing, his first time in triple digits since April 20, while the quality start was his second straight and seventh of the campaign. He'll take a 3.36 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 86:18 K:BB through 93.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home this weekend against Atlanta. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:13 am
    • Winds up with win
Duran (3-2) picked up the win Tuesday against Tampa Bay, striking out two during a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Duran took the mound in the top of the ninth inning with the game tied, 6-6, and didn't allow a hit for a fifth consecutive appearance. After Carlos Santana delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth, Duran ended up qualifying for his third win of the campaign. The Twins' closer is 11-for-11 on save chances this season and owns a 3.43 ERA across 21.0 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:24 am

    • Justin Steele strikes out eight in no-decision
Justin Steele gave up two runs over 6 2/3 innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Giants.

Advice: Steele carried a shutout into the fifth inning before backup catcher Curt Casali delivered a game-tying two-run double, which was enough to extinguish any chance of picking up a win since Chicago’s offense didn’t pull ahead until the eighth inning. He generated 14 swinging strikes, with 13 of them coming on his four-seam fastball/slider combo, and finished with a 31 percent CSW. He’ll carry a strong 3.16 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 56/15 K/BB ratio across 57 innings (10 starts) into a rematch on Monday against the Giants at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park. • Secures save Tuesday
Miller struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Miller took a blown save in his last outing, though it was because he allowed an inherited runner to score. He's struggled a bit lately, allowing nine runs (six earned) with a 16:7 K:BB across 12.1 innings over his last 10 appearances. He's still performing quite well in the closer role for the Athletics, pitching to a 2.20 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 57:12 K:BB over 32.2 innings while going 13-for-15 in save chances this year. • Mason Miller perfect in ninth for 13th save
Mason Miller recorded his 13th save with a scoreless ninth against the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: Miller had it easy tonight, getting one strikeout and a pair of routine flies. He’s had some hiccups of late, but he remains about as good of a bet as any reliever from an ERA and strikeout perspective. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:55 pm
