    • Ragans records 11 strikeouts on way to fifth win
      Cole Ragans allowed one run in six innings and got the win in the Royals’ 4-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

      Advice: Ragans gave up four hits, walked three and struck out 11. The win was his fifth of the season and first since May 22nd against the Tigers. Ragans is third in all of baseball with 120 strikeouts on the season trailing only Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

      Foley struck out one over 1.1 innings to earn the save in a 2-1 win over the White Sox on Friday.

      Advice: Foley was summoned to protect a 2-1 lead with two outs in the eighth inning and induced a groundout from Andrew Vaughn. He hit Paul DeJong with a pitch in the ninth but ended the game with a double play to earn his 13th save of the season. Foley has not allowed an earned run in seven June appearances and is now 13-for-15 in save chances with a 2.67 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 22:9 K:BB over 27 innings in 2024.       Jason Foley recorded the final four outs against the White Sox on Friday night, protecting a one-run advantage to earn his 13th save of the season.

      Advice: Foley came on with the tying run on base with two outs in the eighth inning and got Andrew Vaughn to ground out to second base. He then returned for the ninth where he plunked Paul DeJong with one out in the inning to bring the go-ahead run to the plate again. Andrew Benintendi then lined out to center field and DeJong forgot how many outs there were, easily getting doubled off of first base to end the ballgame.       Kirby Yates pitched a clean ninth inning with a strike out in a win over the Mets on Wednesday.

    • Kirby Yates takes first loss after unearned run
      Kirby Yates took his first loss after giving up an unearned run in the ninth Tuesday against the Mets.

      Advice: José Leclerc’s inability to get the job done in the seventh stressed the Rangers bullpen tonight. David Roberson had to get the final two outs of that inning and then wound up giving up two runs in the eighth on his 30th pitch of the night. Yates came into a tie game in the ninth and gave up the go-ahead run on a walk, a catcher’s interference and a double. The catcher’s interference was provided by J.D.
