      Mariners activated Jorge Polanco (hamstring) from the 10-day IL.

      Advice: Polanco has not been off to a good start in 2024, hitting just .195/.293/.302 this season. He will seemingly replace Ryan Bliss at second base even though Bliss is hitting .295/.354/.477 in 18 games in June with one home run and four RBI. Perhaps Polanco won’t have a long leash, but it seems like he’ll be back in the starting lineup this week. Tyler Locklear was sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move.       Advice: Polanco was sidelined for just under a month with a right hamstring strain. He went 6-for-20 in six games between High-A Everett and Triple-A Tacoma during his rehab assignment, slugging three home runs over his final two contests. Polanco has slashed a disappointing .195/.293/.302 across 181 plate appearances for Seattle this season. He'll resume his role as the club's everyday second baseman.       Advice: Polanco may have put the bow on a highly successful rehab assignment with Friday's performance. Not only were the offensive fireworks a welcome sight for a player who's struggled all season at the big-league level, but Polanco was also able to put in a full game on defense for the first time during his rehab stint. It would seem highly likely the Mariners will deem him ready for activation at this point, but they may opt to have Polanco finish out the weekend with the Rainiers before potentially meeting the club in Tampa Bay for the start of a three-game series against the Rays on Monday. The 30-year-old second baseman has dealt with seemingly countless leg issues over the past few seasons, which have impacted his fantasy appeal, but there’s still enough talent here to think he can make an impact in deeper mixed leagues, if he can stay on the field for an extended stretch.       Advice: This was Cronenworth's first career five-hit game. He's been locked in lately with five multi-hit efforts over his last 13 contests, going 16-for-50 (.320) in that span. The infielder's big game lifted his slash line to .266/.330/.464 with 12 homers, 49 RBI, 36 runs scored, 17 doubles and one stolen base over 75 contests this season.       Jake Cronenworth went 5-for-5 with a homer, four runs scored and a stolen base in a 9-5 win over the Brewers on Friday.

      Advice: Cronenworth and Manny Machado combined for nine hits on Friday, which is a large number. The infielder hit his 12th homer of the season in the sixth off Colin Rea. The five knocks for Cronenworth give him seven in the last two games, and he’s seen his average rise from .251 to .266.
