    • Suffers seventh loss
Flexen (2-7) took the loss Tuesday against the Dodgers, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Things went poorly for Flexen from the get-go as Shohei Ohtani led off the game with a 376-foot homer to right field. The 29-year-old righty has made nine starts since his last win against the Rays on May 8, producing a 5.81 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 35:19 K:BB over 43.1 innings over that span. Flexen looks to capture that elusive third win in his next start, tentatively slated to be against Colorado this weekend. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

    • Chris Flexen allows 4 ER in loss to Dodgers
Chris Flexen allowed four earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Things couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start for Flexen, who was taken deep by Shohei Ohtani in the first inning for a leadoff homer. He would go on to pitch a scoreless second inning but followed that up by allowing a two-run homer to Freddie Freeman in the third and an RBI single to Ohtani in the fourth. Flexen has an ERA of 4.32 on the month and has yet to record a win. He’ll get one more chance to secure a win in June on Sunday when he takes on the Rockies. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

    • Yields one run in no-decision
Chirinos allowed one run on three hits and three walks over five innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Tuesday. He struck out five.

Advice: Chirinos looked solid again in his second start this season, punching out five with eight whiffs in a 78-pitch performance. Considering Miami's injury woes in the rotation, the 30-year-old right-hander should remain a starter as he's posted a 2.70 ERA with 11:3 K:BB over 10 innings so far. Chirinos currently lines up for a difficult opponent in his next outing as he draws the Phillies on the road this weekend. Rotowire.com 37 minutes ago

    • Collects 10th save
Scott earned the save in Tuesday's 2-1 victory against Kansas City, pitching a scoreless inning while allowing one hit.

Advice: Scott worked around a single yielded to Salvador Perez and subsequent pinch-run stolen base by Dairon Blanco to secure double-digit saves for the third consecutive season. The left-handed closer has been especially stingy since May 1, producing a 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across 21.1 innings. Scott has blown only two saves in 2024 and is firmly cemented as the closer in Miami. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago
    • Hit hard in loss
Irvin (6-4) took the loss against the Guardians on Tuesday, allowing eight runs (four earned) on 10 hits with no walks and one strikeout over four innings.

Advice: Irvin allowed three runs in the first two innings and then five runs in a disastrous fifth frame that included a three-run home run by Jose Ramirez. An error in the fifth resulted in four of the runs being unearned, but the lefty allowed 10 hard-hit balls and only generated five swinging strikes in his second consecutive rough outing. Irvin has yielded 13 runs (nine earned) in those two contests and now owns a 3.74 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 74:15 K:BB in 77 innings this season. The 30-year-old will try to get back on track in a home matchup against the Rangers this weekend. Rotowire.com 53 minutes ago

    • Tanner Scott picks up 10th save vs. Royals
Tanner Scott pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Royals.

Advice: Scott allowed a one-out single to Salvador Perez in the ninth but went on to retire the next two batters he faced. The veteran lefty now has 10 saves on the season and lowered his ERA to 1.59 on the season. Scott has converted on 10 of his 12 save opportunities, but saves have been hard to come by for the 28-win Marlins. Rotoworld Today, 7:52 pm
    • Chirinos allows one earned run in win over Royals
Yonny Chirinos allowed three hits and one earned run over five innings in Tuesday’s win over the Royals.

Advice: Chirinos kept a potent Royals lineup at bay all evening, with his lone blemish coming in the first inning on a Vinny Pasquantino RBI single. Chirinos allowed six total baserunners on the evening, with three coming via the walk, but managed to pitch himself out of a few jams with runners in scoring position. A lack of run support left him on the hook for the loss before an RBI single by Nick Gordon in the seventh tied the game at 1-1. Through two starts, Chirinos is boasting a 2.70 ERA with 11 strikeouts to just three walks. He’ll look to pick up his first win of the season in his next start, which is set for Sunday against the Phillies. Rotoworld Today, 7:44 pm

    • Elvis Peguero picks up surprise save vs. Rangers
Elvis Peguero pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn the save on Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: Peguero now has two saves on the season and got the nod in the ninth over Trevor Megill. Megill got the night off after picking up the save on Monday. We wouldn’t expect this to become the norm for Peguero. Rotoworld Today, 7:43 pm

    • Hoby Milner logs 2 IP as opener vs. Rangers
Hoby Milner allowed one earned run over two innings in Tuesday’s win over the Rangers.

Advice: Milner was tasked with toeing the rubber as an “opener” on Tuesday against the Rangers. The veteran lefty ran into trouble in the first inning, allowing a double to Corey Seager, which was followed by an RBI single by Josh Smith, and was pulled after pitching a scoreless second. It was the first time all season that Milner went two or more innings, as Tuesday marked his first start of the season and his career. We wouldn’t expect him to draw another start any time soon.
