    Advice: Hoffman allowed a runner to reach on an error but was otherwise solid in picking up his sixth save. Jose Alvarado leads the Phillies with 12 saves this season, but Hoffman has gotten the occasional opportunity.     Jeff Hoffman struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday against the Marlins.

    Advice: Hoffman worked around a throwing error from Trea Turner to secure this save. While possibly the best Phillie reliever, José Alvarado has grabbed most of the saves.   • Helsley tosses scoreless ninth for 30th save
    Ryan Helsley pitched a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Reds on Sunday.

    Advice: Hensley’s save was his 30th and he recorded two strikeouts in the process. His ERA is 2.61 on the season. Helsley’s well on his way to a 40-save season and anything beyond that would just be a monster year for fantasy. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:57 pm

    Keuchel is listed as the Brewers' scheduled starter for Tuesday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.

    Advice: Keuchel endured a rocky Milwaukee debut this past Wednesday against Texas, covering four innings and striking out four while allowing five earned runs on eight hits -- including two home runs -- and one walk. Don't look for the veteran southpaw's fortunes to improve much as he makes his second turn through the Milwaukee rotation in Colorado, one of the most unforgiving environments for pitchers.   • Works around two walks for save
    Kimbrel worked around two walks in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Rangers.

    Advice: Kimbrel, who hadn't walked multiple batters in an outing since May 8, was able to pitch his way out of trouble. He's allowed two runs (one earned) while posting a 13:5 K:BB over 9.1 innings in June, converting six of his seven chances this month. Kimbrel is up to 19 saves with a 2.37 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB through 30.1 innings overall. Kimbrel has pitched three of the last four days, so he may not be available if a save situation arises Sunday. With Jacob Webb, Yennier Cano and Cionel Perez also having pitched Friday and Saturday, there could be an opportunity for Dillon Tate or Bryan Baker to get a look in a high-leverage spot.     Craig Kimbrel walked two, but didn’t give up a run while picking up a save Saturday against the Rangers.

    Advice: Kimbrel walked Leody Taveras to lead off the inning and then gave up a stolen base to the outfielder, and he then got the next two outs. He issued another free pass to Josh Smith, but he was able to get Adolis Garcia to fly out and pick up the save. Crisis averted. Kimbrel has 19 saves and a 2.37 ERA in the first half of 2024.   • Blows save, grabs win Friday
    Doval (3-1) allowed a run on one hit and struck out one over over inning, blowing a save but earning the win Friday over the Dodgers.

    Advice: Doval allowed a triple to Andy Pages, who came home on a Jason Heyward sacrifice fly that tied the game at 3-3 in the ninth inning. The Giants then got a walk-off home run from Brett Wisely to make Doval the pitcher of record despite his poor outing. He's given up nine runs over nine innings in June, though a pair of four-run meltdowns account for much of that damage. He hasn't been dominant this season with a 4.55 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 39:21 K:BB while converting 14 of 17 save chances over 31.2 innings. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:24 pm
     
  • Camilo Doval blows save, still gets win vs. LAD
    Camilo Doval gave up a run and blew a save Friday, but picked up the win against the Dodgers.

    Advice: Doval gets the win because the stat is flawless and baseball is a fair and just sport. The right-hander gave up a triple to James Outman, and a sac fly from Jason Heyward tied the game at 3-3. That’s the third blown save of the year for Doval, who has provided more good than bad for fantasy managers in 2024 despite his 4.55 ERA. Rotoworld Friday, 10:11 pm
     
  • Helsley barely avoids game-tying homer in save
    Ryan Helsley worked a flawless ninth for his 29th save Friday against the Reds.

    Advice: Helsley very nearly surrendered a game-tying homer to Stuart Fairchild with two outs in the ninth, but Brendan Donovan made a jumping catch at the wall. Statcast said it would have been a homer in 14 of the 30 parks. This was a very quick outing for Helsley — he threw just six pitches — so even though he’s worked four out of six days, there’s a good chance he’ll be available Saturday. Rotoworld Friday, 8:55 pm
