    Steer started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Texas.

    Advice: Steer moved from his usual left field to first base, replacing the injured Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand). The run batted in was just his second in the last 14 games, but Speer continues to the lead the club with 20 RBI through 28 games. The steal was his seventh, nearly half of the 15 he had over 156 games in 2023. Encarnacion-Strand may miss a few more games, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, and Steer could add to his games played at first base. So far, he's made four appearances there. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

  • Goes deep again Sunday
    Judge went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, three RBI and a walk in Sunday's 15-5 win over the Brewers.

    Advice: Judge launched a solo shot off Tobias Myers in the top of the first inning, later adding two more base knocks, including a two RBI single in the fifth inning. The homer was his sixth of the season and he's now gone deep in back-to-back games and three times in the last five contests overall.     Advice: Carroll, who was dropped in the order Wednesday following a day off amid a slump, has hit seventh or eighth over the last four contests. It hasn't helped awake the bat.     Advice: Perez' first career dinger came in the first inning off Kansas City starter Michael Wacha and represented what turned out to be the game-winning blast for the Tigers. The rookie outfielder has started four of the past five games for the Tigers and has found himself consistently toward the top of the lineup, hitting in the three hole for the third consecutive start.   • Byron Buxton picks up first stolen base of 2024
    Byron Buxton went 1-for-4 with three runs scored and picked up his first stolen base of the 2024 campaign as the Twins walloped the Angels on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.

    Advice: Buxton reached on a fielder’s choice in the fourth inning and came around to score the first run of the game on an RBI single by Jose Miranda. The 30-year-old outfielder also drew a walk in the seventh inning and scored on a ground out by Carlos Santana. He finished his day with a single in the eighth inning, then swiped second base and scored on an RBI double by Miranda.     Luis Rengifo swatted his first home run of the season on Sunday afternoon as the Angels fell to the Twins.

    Advice: The versatile 27-year-old tagged Twins’ right-hander Pablo Lopez for his 372-foot (95.7 mph EV) two-run shot in the fifth inning. He was also hit by a pitch in the seventh inning and scored on an RBI single off the bat of Mike Trout.     Mauricio Dubón went 0-for-4 as the Astros’ center fielder Sunday against the Rockies.

    Advice: Jake Meyers isn’t supposed to be hurt, but he hasn’t started since taking a pitch off his forearm on Wednesday. Dubón has played center field in two of the last three games, while Chas McCormick slid over to center on Saturday. Dubón’s .279/.302/.393 line isn’t anything special, and while he’s fine there, he’s not quite the center fielder that Meyers is. He really shouldn’t be getting the majority of the playing time.     Michael Conforto finished 0-for-4 against the Pirates on Sunday, leaving him without an RBI in his last five games.

    Advice: Conforto opened the season 13-for-31 with three homers, four doubles and 10 RBI in his first eight games, Since then, he’s 15-for-74 with two homers, two doubles and six RBI in 19 games.   • Henry Davis exits for pinch-hitter versus Giants
    Henry Davis struck out twice before exiting for a pinch-hitter Sunday against the Giants.

    Advice: The Pirates might have batted for him anyway, but Davis did get hit on the right hand while catching today and was definitely feeling it afterwards. Davis has really struggled this season, hitting .169/.282/.215 in 79 plate appearances, and odds are that he’s going to be sent to Triple-A once Yasmani Grandal comes off the IL.
