  • Royce Lewis homers again versus Tampa Bay
    Royce Lewis homered and walked twice against the Twins on Thursday.

    Advice: Of course he homered. That’s already the ninth homer of the season for Lewis; a solid number for a first half of season, but even more impressive when you remember he’s only played 15 games. The 2017 first-overall pick has been remarkable when healthy enough to play, and his 2024 slash is a scorching .385/.459/.942.   • Dylan Moore homers and steals base in loss
    Dylan Moore homered and stole a base Thursday in a loss to the Guardians.

    Advice: Moore shellacked a Logan Allen pitch in the first inning to give Seattle a 2-0 lead. The steal gives the 31-year-old 13 on the season, and it’s the eighth homer of the season. Moore has scuffled in June with a .512 OPS, but he has homered in two of his last three games, and his power/speed combo will always be intriguing. Rotoworld Today, 12:41 pm

  • Moves rehab to Triple-A
    Foscue (oblique) was transferred to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday to continue his rehab assignment.

    Advice: Foscue went 7-for-17 with one home run in six games with the Rangers' Arizona Complex League affiliate after missing two months with a left oblique strain.   • Nolan Jones (illness) remains out of the lineup
    Nolan Jones (illness) is not in the Rockies lineup on Thursday against the Dodgers.

    Advice: Jones will miss his second straight game with an illness as Sean Bouchard fills in for him in left field and bats second. Jones has looked better since coming off the IL, going 5-for-13 (.385) with one stolen base and just two strikeouts to eight walks.   • Maikel Garcia gets a day off on Thursday
    Maikel Garcia is not in the Royals’ lineup for Thursday’s game against the Athletics.

    Advice: The 24-year-old is hitting just .145 in 16 games in June with 12 strikeouts. He does have four steals and 10 runs scored and is coming off a month of May where he hit .305, so this might be nothing but a brief cold stretch. The Royals will hope a day off helps him get back on track. In the meantime, Garrett Hampson will start at second base and hit eighth with Nick Loftin moving over to third base.     Nolan Arenado (elbow) is not in the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Giants.



    Advice: As expected, Arenado is sitting out Thursday’s series opener against the Giants after X-rays came back negative on is left elbow after being hit by a pitch during Wednesday’s game against the Marlins. He had previously said he hoped to return by Saturday, so the Cardinals will continue to give him a couple of days off. Brandon Crawford will start at third base on Thursday and bat seventh.
